manchesterpaul
Just been following the latest on the floods in the Czech Republic and Central Europe. Parts of the Czech Republic declared a state of emergency. Whilst Prague itself isn't (yet) in the same situation, it looks like there is a potential for an even wetter GP than Sweden. Lots of Central Europe on flood alerts. Czech Republic has had days and days of heaviest rain in 40 years causing deaths. 8 inches in 24 hours in parts. 2 months of rain fell in one day! I've looked at weather sites specific for Prague and it's forecast rain every single day through to Sunday (probably beyond if covered that far lol). Those forecasts fit in with what the tv coverage has just said as well. Only positive i've seen is one report on Reuters saying the rains will die away on Thursday. Let's hope the other forecasts fall into line sharply. Edited May 18, 2010 by manchesterpaul
iris123
Not sure it is panic stations just yet.The forecast i saw was for light rain intermittenly through the next few days.Probably what a track curator would wish for.Rain isn't always a bad thing.I was in Denmark at the weekend and it rained constantly for hours through the afternoon and night.Next day in Vojens they held two meetings starting with the first at 11 in the morning and they said despite the weather the track just got better as the day went on .Just about 40 miles away in Holsted their two meetings were cancelled

Sandie don't go back to the site you mentioned, it now has lots of little pics of 'Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very frightening me (Galileo) Galileo (Galileo) Galileo, Galileo Figaro Magnifico-o-o-o-o ...etc etc' I think best thing to do is as in this country, ignore the forecasts and see what is there when you get there. No point wasting time in worrying about something until it's there to be faced lol. Best of luck and fingers crossed for everyone going over there. manchesterpaul
npt according to the sites ive looked on, and the person who has emailed us from prague. Please, please keep in touch with your emailing friend from Prague. As mentioned earlier the most accurate weather status is by somebody sticking their head out the window and if that head is in Prague...perfect. It's the forecast that another poster gave earlier that is still quoting thunderstorms. The link i use that is 'usually' accurate predicts only a little rain http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/11518.html

I did update the forecasts as forecasts, like the weather, CHANGE Edited May 22, 2010 by manchesterpaul
