Anders
DIVISION 1 RESULTS  Thursday August 26th: Stjärnorna - Gasarna 37-58  The Messing brothers of Andreas and Robin weren't able to defeat Gasarna for a second straight day (they rode as guests for Nässjö the previous day in their win at Gasarna). The Avesta team cruised to a comfortable win in this previously postponed fixture, ending it by two maximums in the nominated heats.  Eric Andersson scored a five ride full maximum for the visitors, and combined with the other heat leaders (Andreas Westlund, Pontus Aspgren) for an impressive 41 paid 42 points, while Andreas Messing was the only one to reach double digits for the Stars.   Saturday August 28th: Nässjö - Hultsfred's Gymnasium 46-50  After winning the five opening meetings at the Skogsvallen track in Nässjö, the home side crumbled to it's second straight loss, at the hands of second placed Hultsfred, in their final home meeting of the season.  Dackarna's reserve league team took the lead in heat 3, and held on to it for the remainder of the meeting. Nässjö cut the deficit to two points on a couple of occasions, but a maximum by Oliver Berntzon and Marcus Åström in heat 13 proved to be too much for Nässjö. It didn't matter that Jacob Thorssell and Jonas Messing ended in the best possible way for Nässjö, with a heat 16 5-1, the meeting was already lost.  Nässjö 46 Jonas Messing 2-3-3-3-2* = 13+1 (5) Rasmus Eklöf (guest) R-2-1-0 = 3 (4) Jacob Thorssell 2-3-2-2*-1-3 = 13+1 (6) Henric Lindqvist R-0-1*-3-2 = 6+1 (5) Benny Johansson (guest) 2-1-1-0-0 = 4 (5) Michael Sjökvist (guest) 3-1*-0-2 = 6+1 (4) Mikael Axelsson 1-0-N-0 = 1 (3)  Hultsfred's Gymnasium 50 Marcus Åström 3-1*-2*-2*-1 = 9+3 (5) Alexander Claesson (guest) 1-2-3-2-3 = 11 (5) Tim Gudmundsson 3-0-X-1* = 4+1 (4) Oliver Berntzon (guest) 1-3-2-3-Fx = 9 (5) Joel Larsson 3-3-1-2-1 = 10 (5) Eric Åshede 2-0-1-R-3 = 6 (5) Joel Blomstrand (guest) X-N-0-1 = 1 (3)   Saturday August 28th: Team Värmland - Stjärnorna  Postponed due to waterlogged track. New date TBA.   Sunday August 29th: Eldarna - Gnistorna 49-47  For the first time in 25 months (!), since a July 2008 meeting against Team CanVac, Eldarna managed to win a Division 1 fixture. It went to a last heat decider where guest Jonas Messing completed his five ride full maximum for the home side, winning ahead of Gnistorna guest Tim Gudmundsson, with home skipper Tommie Lundgren taking the final point ahead of another Gnistorna guest Jacob Thorssell.  Messing was the best for Eldarna, which comprised of five guest riders for the day, while Per-Ola Klasson top scored with 13 paid 15 in 6 rides as a reserve for the Sparks.   This week will see round 18 divied into four meetings on Wednesday and one on Sunday. Also, on Saturday, the previously postponed meeting between Team Värmland and Gnistorna will be held.
Anders
DIVISION 1 FIXTURES - WEDNESDAY 10/09/01  Ikaros Smederna - Indianerna Junior 72-24  League winners Ikaros Smederna ended their season with their biggest victory of the year as they smashed Indianerna reserve league team infront of a massive (for this tier) attendence of 1016. Daniel Henderson, Alexander Edberg and Daniel Gunnestad recorded paid maximums while Niklas Eriksson top scored with 7 points for the away team, who appearently also lost David Rohlén to an injury in his opening ride.  Gnistorna - Gasarna 52-43  Eric Andersson was man of the match with 17 points in 6 rides on the track where he qualified for the Swedish Final a while ago. However, he lacked enough support to keep Gasarna in the meeting with the nominated heats to go, as they where ten points back at the time. Niklas Klingberg, Robert Pettersson and Olof Nilsson scored at least a paid twelve score each for the Sparks.  Filbyterna - Team Värmland 64-32 W.O.  A Walk Over by Team Värmland means two league points to Filbyterna, the Linköping side.  Stjärnorna - Nässjö 47-49  Nässjö had exciting meeting on Wednesday night, with a another close scoreline of six points or less for the 9th time in 18 meetings this season.  Stjärnorna, with Emil Lindqvist making a supposedly one meeting comeback for the injury plagued home side, took the lead in heat 2 and held the advantage for most of the meeting. Nässjö were six points back on a couple of occasions, but two successful tactical substitutions kept it close and after heat 13, the meeting was tied again at 39-39.  Jacob Thorssell had an engine failure while leading heat 14 so a Nässjö maximum turned into another tied heat, and still a tied score heading into the nominated heats.  Thomas H Jonasson and Henric Lindqvist combined for a 4-2 in heat 15 which left Nässjö needing only 3-3 from heat 16 to win it. Andreas Messing won that heat for the home side, but Jonas Messing and Jacob Thorssell kept Michael Sjökvist (who guested for Nässjö four days earlier!) at the back, packed the minor positions and secured a 49-47 win.  Stjärnorna 47 Robin Burestad 2-F-1-1* = 4+1 (4) Robin Messing 1*-1-3-2-2 = 9+1 (5) Linus Lydin 0-1*-1*-0 = 2+2 (4) Emil Lindqvist 2-2-2-1-N = 7 (4) Andreas Messing 3-2-R-2-3 = 10 (5) Michael Sjökvist (guest) 3-1-1*-3-0 = 8+1 (5) Peter Wall 2*-3-0-2*-0 = 7+2 (5)  Nässjö 49 Jonas Messing 3-3-3-2*-3-2 = 16+1 (6) Mikael Axelsson 0-0-0-N = 0 (3) Thomas H Jonasson 3-1*-2*-3-3 = 12+2 (5) Henric Lindqvist 1-2-2-1-1 = 7 (5) Jacob Thorssell 2-3-3-3-R-1* = 12+1 (6) Jimmy Hyll (guest) 0-R-N-N = 0 (2) Mattias Hård (guest) 1-0-0-1 = 2 (4)   Upcoming fixtures  The fifth meeting of the 18th round is held on Sunday, as Hultsfred´s Gymnasium takes on Eldarna. Earlier that day, they will take on Gnistorna in a previously postponed meeting. So for the second time this season, Hultfred's Gymasnium hold double Sundays meetings at their Målilla home track.  Also this weekend, Gnistorna travel to Team Värmland on Saturday for another previously postponed one. Ghostwalker
Rospiggarna have decided to step down to Allsvenskan from Elitserien One of their board members,Göran Lindblom, says that Rospiggarna neither can or want to be apart of Elitserien under the current circumstances he also says that he finds the entire system sick.  So yesterday evening the board took a unanimously decision to step down one notch to Allsvenskan. This means that Rospiggarna who won the playoffs as newcomers in 1995 and during the 14 following seasons they won the gold another three times 1997, 2001 & 2002.  Göran Lindblom continues and says that the y have several reasons for their decision. They have had problems with decreasing attendance levels and sponsors incomes so they don't want to risk the clubs existence by staying in Elitserien and by that risking to send the club into bankruptcy.  Göran also says that Rospiggarna will do a break even financial results this year and that it is not an immediate financial crisis. All riders and contractors have been paid.  So in general it is all about that we don't want to gamble with another season in Elitserien and hope that it would work out alright.  The current season have costed Rospiggarna about 4 million Swedish Kronor (approx £356'000GBP) and to take a step down would means that they would at least lower their cost with 50% Göran says.   http://norrteljetidning.se/sport/speedway/1.942565-rospiggarna-lamnar-elitserien

Aren't Solkkaterna in big financial trouble though? Would be good to go to Malmo or Eskilstuna next year for a second tier meeting.
Ghostwalker
i really hope Svemo can see now that there is a need for Allsvenskan. as you mentioned Solkatterna have had huge problems this season and i don't know hat will happen with Valsarna or Västervik in Elitserien. Both Valsarna and Västervik have or have had financial problems this season so they are bot quite uncertain. Then today news were released that Piraterna have to take huge loans to pay for their expenses.  From Div1 Smederna have already decided to be in Allsvenskan next season i don't know about Gnistorna i hope that they will follow Smederna to Allsvenskan. The difference between Smederna and Gnistorna is that while Smederna have used their own riders Gnistorna have shared several of their riders with Örnarna and Lejonen. Since Svemo want to remove the partner team system and replace it with an individual guest rider system i think that Gnistorna might have some problems with finding enough riders.  Both Hammarby and Örnarna have expressed there wish/aim to be in Elitserien. So a possible (if its likely or not i don't know) scenario is that Valsarna and Västervik are demoted while Hammrby and Örnarna are promoted.  Its starting to become quite a rush now for Svemo to take a decision about next seasons league system since all teams entry notifications have to be ready at November 1st instead of December 31st as it have been earlier. I think that is one of the worst decisions Svemo has taken the past years because it will leave to little amount of times for teams to find sponsors and riders they should rather have put it somewhere in the late winter like the end of February or something like that  Then i would like to see: That they kept the current series system with automatically promotion and demotion between all three league with promotion being dependent on fianaces. That they lowered that average cap to 40.00 and added a total cap for the entire squad that should be at maybe 50.00 That they changed the rules for how averages work.Currently teams like Vetlanda can put riders like THJ in a Div1/Allsvenskan team to have that rider lower his average to get a lower Elitserien average. All division averages should only be based on the riders performances in that particular division regardless in which division the riders is registered in. Standardized contracts and salaries. Meaning that a riders salaries is based upon a coefficient at Svemo. Like Svemo would decided about a base value for riders with an average of 2.00 and then calculate the other riders salaries witha simple formula like (y * x = z) where y is the average, x is the value and z is the points money. I don't know if it would work but at least that would mean that clubs could stop the bidding every year and someof the best riders would have to find a new team meaning that the series would hopefully be a bit more even. tarabanko
Allsvenskan will survive defiantly.  Allsvenskan 2011 can be really good.  teams who I belive will ride there is:  1. Griparna, Nyköping 2. Ikaros Smederna, Eskilstuna 3. Gnistorna, Malmö 4. Rospiggarna, Hallstavik 5. Masarna, Avesta 6. Örnarna, Mariestad ( Not sure if they will take the step up to elitserien, I belive Örnarna will look closely how the elitserien will look in 2011 ) 7. Hammarby, Stockholm ( Not sure if they will take the step up to elitserien, I belive Hammarby will look closely how the elitserien will look in 2011 ) 8. Valsarna, Hagfors ( Back 1 million crownes in 2010 - not sure if the will make it and stay put in elitserien - I DON'T THINK THEY WILL ) 9. Västervik, Västervik ( Has handed in a Reconstruction plan to SVEMO, I don't think SVEMO will say ok to it. )   Solkatterna will go down to division 1 as they don't even applied for a elitlicens.  Elitserien in 2011 can look like this:  1. Elit Vetlanda, Vetlanda 2. Vargarna, Norrköping 3. Lejonen, Gislaved 4. Dackarna, Målilla 5. Indianerna, Kumla 6. Piraterna, Motala - Piraterna isnt safe for 2011 as the club has a Short-term debt of two million. Motala Municipality are having a meeting september 28 to handle this, if the Motala Municipality will borrow 3 millions crownes to Piraterna Speedway.   /  Mikael
Anders
i really hope Svemo can see now that there is a need for Allsvenskan.  I would think that SVEMO had seen that before as well, but they couldn't let an Allsvenskan league continue for another year with less than 6 teams, for sure. Now, when Ikaros Smederna and Gnistorna have decided to join Allsvenskan from Division 1, and Rospiggarna joining from Elitserien, Allsvenskan's existence must be written in stone for next season. One would hope. Allsvenskan could be quite good next year.  From Div1 Smederna have already decided to be in Allsvenskan next season i don't know about Gnistorna i hope that they will follow Smederna to Allsvenskan. ... Since Svemo want to remove the partner team system and replace it with an individual guest rider system i think that Gnistorna might have some problems with finding enough riders.  According to their website, Gnistorna says that they'll move up to Allsvenskan next season, which is good news.  I agree that they could have problems finding enough riders (from Sweden), but being close to Denmark, they could field several Danish/German riders of Allsvenskan standard.  That they changed the rules for how averages work.Currently teams like Vetlanda can put riders like THJ in a Div1/Allsvenskan team to have that rider lower his average to get a lower Elitserien average. All division averages should only be based on the riders performances in that particular division regardless in which division the riders is registered in.  The original plan wasn't for THJ to be registrated in Nässjö to lower his average for 2011, but to free up one place in the squad for another rider, as Elit Vetlanda was without any strong double-up riders this season, due to not having an Allsvenskan partner team like 2009 (when Sebastian Aldén, Daniel Davidsson etc. was available). For THJ to ride 16 heats was a fortunate side effect...  All division averages should only be based on the riders performances in that particular division regardless in which division the riders is registered in.  ...but of course it's ridiculous that the ruling allows this, but it does. As you say, a rider should have different averages in different leagues, depending on previous year(s) performances. The Average Committee of Serieföreningen had this idea last year, but nothing happened.
