Anders
DIVISION 1 - ROUND 14 - WEDNESDAY 10/27/28 Gnistorna - Ikaros Smederna 51-45 Despite being (co-) team manager for Nässjö, I simply can't say anything other than that this meeting was the most interesting of the 14th round. The home side started stronger to record 8 of the first 9 heat victories, for a 32-22 lead. Ikaros Smederna worked their way back into this one, especially thanks to Linus Eklöf and Daniel Gunnestad who scored 15 points of the away team's 21 points in heats 10-15, but they still needed a maximum in the last heat to force a draw. However, Niklas Klingberg made no mistake and scored his fourth win of the evening to win heat 16, and the meeting, for Gnistorna. Klingberg was top scorer for the Malmö team with 13 points, but got good support from Christian Agö (replacement for the unavailable Mattias Nilsson) and Robert Pettersson, both with 11 points. For Ikaros Smederna, Linus Eklöf scored a heat win and five second places for 13 points, while Daniel Gunnestad had a paid 14 from his place at reserve. Filbyterna - Hultfred's Gymnasium 60-35 Dackarna's reserve team started well and had a 15-15 tie after five heats, but the following four heats gave a massive 18-6 advantage for Filbyterna, and Hultsfred weren't able to climb back out of that hole. Sebastian Carlsson had a paid 13 score for the Linköping side, while Joel Larsson looks to have been the only Hultsfred rider to trouble the opposition throughout the night, as he recorded 12 points in five rides. Gasarna - Team Värmland 53-42 Avesta side Gasarna opened up a ten point lead early on, and Team Värmland weren't able to get closer despite using some tactical substitutions before the interval. Värmland only took four heat victories, compared to twelve for the home team, where Sebastian Aldén scored a five ride full maximum. Anton Rosén top scored with a 11 paid 13 for Team Värmland, as a guest rider. Stjärnorna - Indianerna Junior 54-42 The Bäck brothers gave Stjärnorna the lead in the first reserve heat (heat 2), and when they scored another maximum in the second reserve heat (heat 11), the Stars were totally in command. Andreas Messing completed his four ride full maximum in heat 14, to win it for the Hallstavik team. The Indians had three riders scoring 34 points, but the remaining riders didn't do very well. Nässjö - Eldarna 73-22 Only Tommie Lundgren provided some opposition on the night with 8 points, despite an engine failure while leading his first. For a makeshift Nässjö side, Jonas Messing scored a five ride full maximum, while co-manager Benny Woentin stepped out of an almost three years retirement to score a paid 10 at reserve. His partner at reserve, Johannes Fredh, rode for the first time in a few months, but still scored a four ride paid maximum. Next round is split between Wednesday (Indianerna Junior - Gnistorna and Ikaros Smederna - Filbyterna) and Sunday (Hultsfred's Gymnasium - Gasarna, Eldarna - Stjärnorna, Team Värmland - Nässjö). Also, the previously postponed meeting between Nässjö and Stjärnorna from round 9 will be held on Wednesday, hopefully at the Nässjö track. Anders
Anders,Jacob Thorsell`s been missing for a couple of weeks. Is he injured ? Yes, unfortunately. He broke a collarbone and suffered a major concussion at the FIM Youth Gold Trophy 250cc in Czech Republic on July 10th. I spoke to him yesterday, and the rehab are definitely going in the right direction. He hopes to be able to practise early next week, and if things go well he may be in the Nässjö side for Wednesday's previously postponed meeting versus Stjärnorna, though I feel it's more likely he'll ride at Team Värmland on Sunday. We'll have to wait and see how the practise goes.

Anders
DIVISION 1 - WEDNESDAY 10/08/04 Round 14: Ikaros Smederna - Filbyterna 64-32 As Ghostwalker has said, Ikaros Smederna took another crushing victory. Even though the Eskilstuna team definitely is the best of the league, I must admit I thought Filbyterna would put of a bigger fight. Anyway, it's impressive to see that the home side never once got a last place from any of the heats. Round 14: Indianerna Junior - Gnistorna 29-67 Sure, the Indians looked to be a bit of a long tailed team on paper, but certainly not by this much IMO. Despite the huge scoreline, only Christian Agö was able to get a four ride paid maximum for Gnistorna. Overall, six of their riders scored at least a paid ten, while only Freddy Godlund managed that for the home side. Round 9: Nässjö - Stjärnorna 50-46 Nässjö remains unbeaten at the Skogsvallen track in Nässjö (the only "home" loss came when riding in Vetlanda), recording the fifth home win of the season. A 19-11 lead put the home side in charge, but seven last places for the home riders in the following eight heats put Stjärnorna back into the meeting, tying it a 39-39 with three heats to go. Jonas Messing and Robin Aspegren scored the eventually matchwinning maximum in heat 14, with both nominated races ending with tied heats. David Ruud won all of his heats, but despite winning heat 16, Messing/Larsson packed the minor positions for Nässjö, to keep the margin between the teams at four points. With only six heat victories on the night, Nässjö were still able to win it, thanks to four 5-1's in those six heats. Guess it's a strength to win, despite not fireing on all cylinders. A sharper performence is most likely needed to win in the 14th round meeting at Team Värmland on Sunday. So, a double header in Målilla on Sunday!

Anders
Örnarna-masarna had to be aborted after 9 heats because of a very intense rain . The tied score, 27-27 will stand since atleast 9 heats were completed. The first seven heats were all run under 60.0 seconds. Heat 8 was won in 61.9, and heat 9 in 83.1 seconds! I'm guessing it was a bit wet then...

aslan
20 seconds at around 80 kmh is around 400 meters. So the winner of heat 8 would have easily lapped the winner of heat 9. They decided the results of heat 9 in the pits before it started, because they didn't want to take the chance of someone getting hurt. There was a lot of water on the track due to heavy rain and thunder.
Ghostwalker
Ikaros Smederna took a huge step towards the league victory, in the Division 1 league, by defeating Team Hultsfreds Gymnasium (THG) with 52-44 at G&B arena. Smederna won despite that they only had 6 riders in the lineup. Alexander Edberg was forced to withdraw from the meeting since the U19 Euro Team Cup was postponed from y.day to today. Also Jacek Basinski was supposed to have ridden but i don't know why he didnt ride. To cover for Edberg, Smederna managed to loan Oliver Berntzon who normally rides for Gnistorna/Örnarna. Smederna are 10p ahead of Gnistorna and THG although both of them have 3 meetings more remaining then Smederna have.
