Vicar
judging bu that report it seem that Indianerna only had 6 riders so there was no nr7. So who was four times last? Are there any results from Division 1 from 12th of June? Edited June 18, 2010 by Vicar
Anders
Are there any results from Division 1 from 12th of June? The Eldarna meeting was postponed as the track had not passed the track inspection at that time. According to their website, a new track inspection was scheduled for yesterday. Hopefully it went through so they can start riding their meetings at their actual home track. The Team Värmland fixture was off, due to rain if my sources are correct. No new dates are known for these meetings.

Anders
DIVISION 1 - ROUND 9 This round as been spread out in a span of 8 days, so time to summarize. 10/06/19 Team Värmland - Filbyterna 63-32 The Linköping team came with only six riders to this away fixture, with aces André Hertzberg and frequent guest Andreas Lekander were missing so they never really stood a chance. The home side, at full strength, took an easy victory with Jeremia Thelaus scoring a full maximum. 10/06/23 Nässjö SK - Stjärnorna OFF This meeting was postponed due to track work at the Nässjö track. New date TBA. 10/06/23 Indianerna Junior - Ikaros Smederna 39-53 Henrik Karlsson scored a full maximum for Ikaros Smedernas as they won in Kumla. The Eskilstuna outfit was also helped by the services of Linus Eklöf who scored ten points. The Indians had to used several tactical substitutions to keep it close, but the strong main body of Ikaros Smederna made all the difference on the night. 10/06/23 Gasarna - Gnistorna 37-58 The Sparks have already dropped two away meetings, so took no chances as they visited Avesta on Wednesday night. They bolstered their strongest possible line-up, with Niklas Klingberg scoring a full five ride maximum and first year 500cc rider Mathias Thörnblom scoring 15 points in six heats from reserve. 10/06/27 Eldarna - Hultsfreds Gymnasium 22-59 After some time consuming work, Eldarna were finally able to ride at their home track in Huddinge again. However, the season home debut wasn't a happy one as Dackarna's reserve team cruised to an easy victory despite the fact that Eric Åshede withdrew after a heat 1 crash, but from what I've heard, he's "only" battered and bruised. Ghostwalker
thank you Anders for doing "My" work i had planned to be more active with lineups, results & etc but i've been very busy lately. Regarding Ikaros Smederna and the streams of their meetings. Their next meeting is on Sunday away against Eldarna. However Eldarna's track Gladö Kvarn is of very low standard and i'm not sure if they have internet. In any case the meeting after that on July 7th @ home against Gasarna will most probably be streamed. Anders
thank you Anders for doing "My" work i had planned to be more active with lineups, results & etc but i've been very busy lately. No problems at all. Since being team manager for Nässjö, I don't mind doing recaps for the Division 1 rounds.

Anders you must see a lot of Jacob Thorsell,I saw him in the streamed match at Grondal and was very impressed on his ability on a bike-do you think he can go all the way and become a top rider ? Anders
Anders you must see a lot of Jacob Thorsell,I saw him in the streamed match at Grondal and was very impressed on his ability on a bike-do you think he can go all the way and become a top rider ? You're correct, I do see a lot of him. He rode very well at Gröndal, and I guess you remember his pass between Alexander Edberg and Andreas Lekander. That was pure class! Just as his last bend pass to win the meeting at home against Team Värmland. Can he go all the way? That's a difficult question, as you can usually get very excited with several first year riders, I tend to be that myself. But it's a long way to the top, and there are many factors that determines if a rider goes all the way or not. The entire Thorssell family is very dedicated to Jacob's ambitions in trying to establish himself in the sport, both with invested time and money I would say. As a rider, his lack of gating ability early in his 500cc career has already provided him with a racing mentality, and he never knows when he's beaten. His gating is slowly improving, so as long as het gets enough meetings under his belt, he will improve further overall. The trio of Gnistorna's Mathias Thörnblom (92/07/14), Jacob (93/07/24) and Solkatterna's Victor Palovaara (94/01/31) rides in their first year on 500cc, and it will be interesting to follow their progress. I won't label any of them as the "next Jonsson" or anything like that, but no doubt, it will be interesting to follow them.

Anders
10/06/23 Nässjö SK - Stjärnorna OFF This meeting was postponed due to track work at the Nässjö track. New date TBA. New date: Wednesday August 4th DIVISION 1 FIXTURES - ROUND 10 Nässjö - Gnistorna 51-45 After beating Team Värmland in a last bend pass victory a couple of weeks ago, Nässjö once again provided stunning entertainment for the crowd as they came from ten points down (10-20) to tie it with only four heats left. Gnistorna skipper Mattias Nilsson and sensational Oliver Berntzon scored a maximum against the inspriational guest choice of Alexander Edberg in heat 13, though the home side cut the deficit in half before the nominational heats. Robert Henderson and Jonas Messing scored a maximum in heat 15 to bring Nässjö into the lead for the first time on night, before Jacob Thorssell and Alex Edberg scored Nässjö's fourth maximum of the night to set the points difference to six points. Unfortunately, the Swedish U19 International Anton Göthberg suffered a crushed vertebra and broken ribs in a heat 8 crash and was forced to withdraw. He was taken to hospital, and will be transferred to Linköping today for surgery. Here's my best wishes for a speedway recovery! Naturally, the absence of Göthberg was a reason why Nässjö was able to stage such a comeback. I'm not foolish enough to think otherwise, before sour grapes from the Gnistorna camp points this out once again. Nässjö 51 Jonas Messing ( 2 2 1* 2* 3 2* ) = 12+3 (6) Lennart Persson ( 0 1 N 0 ) = 1 (3) Alexander Edberg (guest) ( 2 3 3 3 1 2* ) = 14+1 (6) Robert Henderson (guest) ( 1* 1 1 2* 3 ) = 8+2 (5) Jacob Thorssell ( 3 1* 2 3 1 3 ) = 13+1 (6) Henric Lindqvist ( R 0 N 2 ) = 2 (3) Mikael Axelsson ( 1 0 N 0 ) = 1 (3) Gnistorna 45 Mattias Nilsson ( 3 2 3 3 1 ) = 12 (5) Olof Nilsson ( 1 0 0 1 F ) = 2 (5) Robert Pettersson ( R 0 R 0 ) = 0 (4) Oliver Berntzon ( 3 3 3 2* 0 ) = 11+1 (5) Anton Göthberg ( 2 Fn N N ) = 2 (1) Per-Ola Klasson ( 3 2* 0 1 3 1 ) = 10+1 (6) Mathias Thörnblom ( 2* 1* 2 0 1 2 ) = 8+2 (6) Gasarna - Filbyterna 49-47 Another cracker of a meeting was held in Avesta where Gasarna managed to come from six points down with three heats to go, to win it by two! It was a tied meeting before the final heat when Eric Andersson completed his five ride maximum for Gasarna ahead of André Hertzberg and Sebastian Aldén, the latter who made his comeback from injury with an eleven paid twelve score. a 4-2 in heat 16 made all the difference. Stjärnorna - Hultsfreds Gymnasium 43-52 David Hillborg only dropped a single point for the Hallstavik team, but that didn't help as Hultsfred recorded maximums in heats 10 & 12 to open up a nine point lead, something from the home side never recovered. Skipper Marcus Åström had an off day for the winning team, but four riders notched double digit scores, among them was Robin Burestad, a guest from Stjärnorna who made his season debut against his proper team. Team Värmland - Indianerna Junior This meeting is held on Sunday... Eldarna - Ikaros Smederna ...just like this one.

Ghostwalker
the Division 1 meeting between Eldarna and Ikaros Smederna had to be aborted after 9 heats because the track was considered unsafe since it was to dry, causing too much dust which made the visibility almost none. Smedernas Rasmus Eklöf was taken to hospital after a crash in which his footpeg got stuck in the kickboard and Rasmus fell to the ground. First prognosis says broken collarbone. Ikaros Smederna led with 39-13 when the meeting was aborted. source scoresheet In Todays other Division 1 meeting, Team Värmland won over Indianerna Junior with 58-38. scoresheet
Anders
the Division 1 meeting between Eldarna and Ikaros Smederna had to be aborted after 9 heats So, of Eldarna's four home meetings, three of them has been abandoned before 16 heats has been raced. That's....not good.

brandonbee48
Thanks Hi David, Thank you for your good wishes the other day re the broken leg. Now i know what riders go through when they do it. Love to say it was a riding accident !!!! but it was a mundane domestic tumble. Does not stop me watching the racing. Regards. Alan.
