miro
Gotland Islanders AKA Bysarna have been granted a construction permit from Gotland's planning and construction office, for their new track in Hejdeby, which is just a few Km east of Visby. They have earlier been granted a permit from Gotland's environmental office, however that permit has been appealed. Apparently noise measurements have been conducted in a manor to simulate a real heat start. The results were most satisfying and the engines could not be heard as close as a few hundred meters away at the local church. When finished the track will have several noise reducing constructions such as high and wide dirt walls and noise reducing fences. The construction will be done in two stages. In the first stage the access road and the 80cc track will be built, in the second stage the 500cc track, service buildings, pits, stands, parkings and etc will be built. http://sverigesradio...artikel=3710320 http://gotlandsnytt....hejdeby-kanske/ http://www.helagotla...ticleid=6023598 Its great to hear that Bysarna are coming back. I love Gotland and I look forward to going there and seeing some speedway again.

Anders
DIVISION 1 FIXTURES - ROUND 7 Ikaros Smederna - Nässjö SK 63-33 Nässjö wasn't able to continue it's hot streak of victories to four in a row, as league leading Ikaros Smederna proved way to tough on Wednesday night. The away side, with a makeshift line-up consisting of three guests (thanks to all of them for their participation), played all cards available before the interval and was only down by ten points after the same amount of heats, but the strength in depth of the Eskilstuna team proved to be the overwhelming factor as the home side cruised to a 28-8 score in the final six heats, infront of 517 spectators. Ikaros Smederna 63 Daniel Henderson 3-2-3-3-2* = 13+1 (5) Robert Henderson 1-2-R-0 = 3 (4) Alexander Edberg Fx-3-2-3 = 8 (4) Andreas Lekander (guest) 2-1-1*-3 = 7+1 (4) Henrik Karlsson 3-3-2*-2*-3 = 13+2 (5) Jacek Basinski 3-2*-0-3-2* = 10+2 (5) Rasmus Eklöf 2*-1*-1-2*-3 = 9+3 (5) Nässjö SK 33 André Hertzberg (guest) 2-2-3-2-2-1 = 12 (6) Lennart Persson 0-0-N-1-1 = 2 (4) Mikael Axelsson 1-1-0-0 = 2 (4) Jacob Thorssell 3-3-3-2-1*-N = 12+1 (5) Benny Johansson (guest) 1-0-R-1 = 2 (4) Jimmy Börjesson (guest) 0-0-N-0-0 = 0 (4) Henric Lindqvist 1-0-N-1*-1-0 = 3+1 (5) Indianerna Junior - Hultsfreds Gymnasium 47-49 Dackarna's reserve team recorded their second away win in a row as they won a nail biting meeting in Kumla. The home side came back from a six point deficit twice to force a last heat decider, but Joel Larsson and Thomas Ljung scored a 4-2 for the away team against previously unbeaten Freddy Godlund (and Niklas Eriksson). Larsson top scored with 13 points for Hultsfreds Gymnasium while Godlund had a 16 paid 17 score in six rides for the home side. Gasarna - Stjärnorna 50-46 Another close battle was raced in Avesta, another one that ended up in a last heat decider. Stjärnorna's Andreas Messing had to withdrew after a fall in his third outing, but the away team still brought in to a decisive heat 16. Gasarna held a two point lead, and Andreas Bergström made no mistake as he sealed his maximum with his fifth straight heat victory, to win it for Gasarna. Robin Bergqvist top scored for Stjärnorna with 11 points. Team Värmland - Gnistorna This meeting is held on Saturday... Eldarna - Filbyterna ...just as this fixture, which complete round 7. brandonbee48
I think what Smederna are doing in streaming all their meetings live is a terrific idea for improving the profile of the club. They now have a supporter in the USA-me!. I loved the encouraging of the young kids parading round on their small bikes. Maybe we were watching tomorrow's AJ ? You never know. Never seen anything like that at a UK track . Also like the little touches of celebrating a 5-1 on a lap of honour with the team flag and the presentation of flowers to each rider at the end. Just little things but it all adds up. Does the track announcer have THE most distinctive voice in speedway? Anyway, well done Smederna for trying in these difficult economic times. Regards. Alan. davidba
Yeah its a great bonus watching these meetings as i'd usually rather watch the up and coming riders but they are the ones least likely to be shown anywhere.Good adverts for 3rd tier Swedish racing, gotta go and watch one soon! Ghostwalker
Who was number 7 in Indianerna Junior here? Because he rode four times and there is no name judging bu that report it seem that Indianerna only had 6 riders so there was no nr7. Anders
Team Värmland - Gnistorna This meeting is held on Saturday... Eldarna - Filbyterna ...just as this fixture, which complete round 7. AFAIK, both of these meetings were postponed. DIVISION 1 FIXTURES - ROUND 8 Wednesday June 16th 2010 Nässjö SK - Gasarna 64-32 The home side clamied their fourth win in five meetings as they beat Gasarna by 30+ points. The Avesta team missed the services of Pontus Aspgren (injured) and Andreas Bergström (work), which left guest Joel Larsson to be the lone Gasarna rider to record a heat victory on the night. Not much of a dramatic one, but it's two points in the bag for Nässjö who will face stiffer opposition in a week, when The Stars (Stjärnorna) comes into town. Nässjö SK 64 Jonas Messing ( 1 3 3 3 3 ) = 13 (5) Lennart Persson ( 3 3 1 3 2* ) = 12+1 (5) Jacob Thorssell ( 3 3 3 2* Fx ) = 11+1 (5) Thomas Ljung (guest) ( 1 Fx 1 1* ) = 3+1 (4) Robin Aspegren ( 3 3 2 2* N ) = 10+1 (4) Henric Lindqvist ( 3 1 2* 3 2 ) = 11+1 (5) Mikael Axelsson ( 1 0 1 2* ) = 4+1 (4) Gasarna 32 Fredrik Andersson ( 2 1* 0 1 ) = 4+1 (4) Alexander Söderholm ( 0 2 1 0 ) = 3 (4) Joel Larsson (guest) ( 2 2 3 1 3 ) = 11 (5) Eric Åshede (guest) ( 0 2 R 0 1 ) = 3 (5) Andreas Westlund ( 2 2 2 0 N ) = 6 (4) Simon Lindh-Åström ( F 1* F R R ) = 1+1 (5) Jimmy Börjesson ( 2 0 0 1 1 ) = 4 (5) Gnistorna - Eldarna 50-30 Both teams rode with only five riders, though Eldarna actually had three guests from Gnistorna. I guess this was an agreement so the meeting was able to be held at all. Can I just say "oh dear"... Stjärnorna - Team Värmland 49-47 Team Värmland suffered their second two point away loss in two weeks time, as they lost in Hallstavik. Henrik Karlsson proved to be an inspriational guest for the appearently unavailable Robin Törnqvist, and Värmland was able to force a last heat decider. However, Andreas Messing was able to split the away pair for a second place (behind Karlsson), which was enough for The Stars to win it by two. Filbyterna - Indianerna Junior 56-40 Smederna riders Alex Edberg and Robert Henderson were two good choice as guests, but for Indianerna Junior, Niklas Eriksson had an off day, and the reserves didn't beat an opponent between them, so they still lost. It was rather close after twelve heats (38-34) but Andreas Lekander and Sebastian Carlson scored a maximum in heat 13, with Filbyterna eventually crusing to a 16 point win. Hultsfreds Gymnasium - Ikaros Smederna This meeting should have been held on Sunday, but according to Dackarna's website, they'll meet on July 17th instead.
