DutchGrasstrack
And the last round of the Dutch championship this sunday in Lelystad has also been called off. Reason: the club did not have enough money to get it organised. What a load of crap to be honest, the riders have to pay to race instead that they get payed to race. Dutch speedway has become a big joke . Oh and yes; the events of the Dutch championship are the only proper meetings in Holland. Sofar we had only 1 round, what if you only race in Holland? A Dutch speedway license costs 300 pounds, you do the math.. .
Vicar
So Thomas Sorensen is Dutch champion for 2010?

britmet
Final standings of 2010 (1 meeting): 1. Thomas Sorensen 50 2. Henk Bos 49 3. Jannick de Jong 48 I'm puzzled by the points if there was only one meeting -? They're not the points shown on your match report, 17.7.2010, (10,11,10 and a Final.) DutchGrasstrack
The rider who wins the A group gets 50 points, second gets 49 and so on. The winner of the B group gets 38 points, second gets 37 and so on. Hope this helps .
Bavarian
And the last round of the Dutch championship this sunday in Lelystad has also been called off. A Dutch speedway license costs 300 pounds, you do the math.. . What the hell is going on in Holland? Speedway is down on its knees, even though there are three or four speedway tracks and more than enough riders willing to have a go! How bad can the administration of the sport be? What would be the solution?
DutchGrasstrack
The solution is that the KNMV is going to talk with the speedway clubs, which they refuse to do . The Blijham club is furious, and they are thinking about quiting the speedway . Same for the Lelystad club, although I think they will go on with their weekly practice sessions and club meetings (6 in a year). The Vledderveen track is still not approved for speedway and will never be because it's all setup wrong . Veenoord can only run 2 meetings per year, so that does not help much either. Currently many many riders are doing grasstrack and speedway. And also many got their bikes for sale already because there aren't just enough meetings. There are only 3 riders in Holland who only race speedway on proper level, that's me, Henk Bos and Henkie Koonstra (I think). The rest is also racing grasstrack, and give priority to grasstrack. Henk Bos is quiting this year because he is fed up with the KNMV not running meetings . Speedway is realy definalty on his knees now in Holland, last years have been bad but it has now come to a point which might be the end. Puma23
Can you translete for me short text from Veenord web site ? DutchGrasstrack
Yes the text says that there was a national team meeting (challenge) between the NACO Tijders, the North Stars, Speedwayteam Amsterdam and Limburgia.
DutchGrasstrack
The traditional Indoor speedway meeting in Exloo at the end of this year has been called off.
Humphrey Appleby
Henk Bos is quiting this year because he is fed up with the KNMV not running meetings I haven't been to any Dutch meetings for some years, but did the KNMV ever actually run any meetings itself? Weren't they always organised by volunteers (I seem to remember a husband and wife doing it)? Usually it's a lack of competitors that kills things, but if there are riders but simply no-one to organise anything, that's a tragedy. EUR 300 for a licence though, that's an absolute disgrace. DutchGrasstrack
The KNMV runs the meetings together with the clubs. The KNMV will sort the officials, the speaker, the referee, the lads in the paddock who check the bikes, etc. The clubs sort the stuff around the meeting, like the catering. The husband and wife you mean are the 'owners' of the Speedway Veenoord club . The KNMV has now started a 'speedway work group', hopefully they will be able to get some meetings sorted next year. Hopefully there are some riders as many of them have quit speedway or got their bikes for sale.
britmet
'DutchGrasstrack', Is your mailbox full? No PM possible. Would it be correct to say there has been no National Championship of Belgium held in 2010 ? (It was B.Borgers in 2009.)
DutchGrasstrack
Hello mate. I guess to, I will clear it soon lol . There wasn't a National Championship of Belgium last year either mate, wasn't held for years. But the club told me that they are going to run a 'Open Belgian Championship' in 2011. Benjamin Borgers won the Golden Helmet in 2009 and a Open Club meeting in 2009. This was noted wrong by mainly the Poles (again) without checking the source/results. DutchGrasstrack
2011 Calendar: July 16 - Dutch Championship (Round 1) - Veenoord September 24 - Golden Helmet - Veenoord Very very disappointed to see only 1 round for the Dutch Championship . Hope they (KNMV, Dutch federation) can get a few more meetings on the calendar, otherwise we only got the 2 meetings above and some club meetings.
