greyhoundp
Hi, I just came across this short Video of Eric his crash, and of him fighting his way back to a reasonable standard of health, what also comes through is his determination during his battle back to fitness. Eric was MY hero then, and though i am in late middle age myself now, i am no less admiring of him now <in a different way> to what i was then. Good health my son, to you and your family.. Main Man
Thanks for finding that Paul. Not seen that filming before. Having known Erik since he first came to the UK , worked with him at Cradley and as his manager plus writing his first book Champ with him, it brought a lump to my throat. I am so looking forward to the World Speedway Riders Association annual dinner on Saturday as Erik is the guest of honour and I can see my old friend again
mervjankefanclub
Inspiring stuff Erik was one of my favourite riders ever. I have mentioned this elsewhere before, but I will always remember when Glasgow drew the Heathens in the ILKOC of 1980 and all the talk was obviously of golden boy Bruce appearing at Blantyre, but it was the wee Dane who made the biggest impression on a young MJFC that night and he became a huge favourite of mine. WembleyLion
I was fortunate enough to see Erik at close quarters last year when he was heavily involved with the youngsters in an 80cc meeting at Korskro. He clearly is a great inspiration and seemed to be getting a lot of enjoyment in helping the up and coming Danes.
