It's approx. 4 km from the city centre, so it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to get there by car. Plus the city bus (line number 7) stops right next to the stadium entrance. They will soon be no better off than neighbours Austria with just a handful of riders and a handful of meetings. There were actually three Hungarian riders (Benko, Konya and Lorincz), but I agree, very bad for Hungary. Do you know maybe details? Yes, I was in Gyula. I'll post it tomorrow. tomazpozrl
Where was Tabaka? I'm not sure but I guess he wasn't interested to ride. As far as I know clubs, organizers, officials and riders in Hungary are all in pretty bad relationship, and we find it really hard to communicate with them to organize this common junior championship as there is noone who can speak on behalf of all Hungarian speedway. And Gyula is the main place of Roland Benko and his team. You should hear the stadium announcer on Saturday when Benko was riding and especially when he was in the lead. The guy was so excited, I thought he will get a heart attack.

Bavarian
Such a shame, because one would think that in such a small speedway country, all should work towards the goal to make the sport bigger. Now that Debrecen has closed, there's really only two clubs/tracks left in Hungary, Miskolc and Gyula, so communication and coordination should not be THAT difficult. Hungary really only stages a handful of meetings this year, other than the Polish League meetings of Miskolc. And so many of their riders have recently retired from the sport that even some of the old timers like Adorjan, Kocso and Nagy must ride again from time to time. Other than Tabaka and Benkö there are no new riders coming through. It sadly reminds me of the demise that speedway took in neighbouring Austria, where the end is near!
