What a meeting!! Some superb racing and some great passing which has been lacking of late down at DP. All riders showed good guts on a night that they didn't have to considering they were racing team mates, but like Compton said at the end, everyone goes out to win the race!

And a special mention has to go to Craig Cook! Wow!! One hell of a meeting for him, absolutely unbelievable riding from him tonight :) And so happy my prediction of a top 4 finish for the guy came up trumps! Always knew he has it in him.

Shame for Branney tonight with his engine failures, but I have to say I didnt agree with putting Benji Compton out to race. Given that it wasnt a competitive meeting, Branney should have been allowed to come back out and gain valuable track time!

Super meeting and valueable races for Kildemand and Schramm as they dial in the track. The spider looks very classy indeed and has shown he can pass.

As for Craig Cook - Wow !! If he can produce that sort of form week in week out he's going to take some big scalps during what we must remember is only his second season. I can see him getting a 6-7 average in no time at all

Great meeting tonight, special rides from Cookie and Kildemand :approve:

Also an unbelieable pass from Compo!

Good to see the old riders especially Lou Sansom and Stoney but all the riders made it a great evening well done to Tony Jackson who put in a a lot of hard work to organise the meeting. :)

A great meeting, was great to see Stoney, it just wouldn't have been the same without him, the guy is a Workington legend, just like Lou Sanson was in the 70's. Well done to Wrighty, and a special mention to Craig Cook, what a talent.

Agree with all the positive comments about tonights meeting, was an excellent night and the appearance of some of riders from years gone by certainly brought back a few memories for me.

Pleased Stoney turned up, both he and Lou Sansom gave excellent interviews. Also good to see PK back at Derwent Park.

Hopefully the 50th Celebration will be as good (and at Derwent Park!!)

Good to see the present Comets riding well, will be interesting to see how we fare next week-end when the serious stuff starts.

Passing galore at Workington, Happy that everything went well on the night. The Worky management and everyone else involved ( Big mention to Jacko ) in the organisation of this meeting done a fantastic job.

Plenty of ex-riders there including the high profile Lou Sanson, But one of the biggest suprises of the night had to be the attendance of Carl "Stoney" Stonehewer have to say him being there just completed the night for me the greatest rider ever to pull on the big C race jacket imo, He even took the time to walk around and talk to the fans.

The racing was out of the top draw too, every rider giving it there best shot. Peter Kildemand in only his 2nd meeting at Derwent Park already looks to be taking to the track what a signing that lad is!!

Craig Cook and Andre Compton deserve a special mention as they rode their hearts out.

Unfortunately John Branneys mechanical gremlins continued to affect him, Chin up John!

Great night.

It was great to see some of Workington's legends back at DP.

I didn't think it was such a good meeting though, not a single pass until heat 10, after that things picked up though with more passing.

I agree, some great rides by some talented riders but it seemed to be first out of the gate won on most races.

Just my opinion.

Great meeting really enjoyed it. Good competitive racing. Steve Lawson still looked class on a bike, and a time of 70s was most impessive. Rider of the night for me has to be Cookie, the man never ceases to amaze me. Considering the time he has had on a bike he really is something special. Given the right breaks and sponsorship I really think he could be a class act in future years. Would love to see him double up because he can gate.

Great crack in the bar afterwards meeting up with all the old riders. A lot of credit ans a huge amount of thanks to 'Jacko' for organising this, I know a lot of effort and sleepless nights went into it.

A great weekend of nostalgia and Speedway, and to top it off Stoney arrived as well.

Can I just say a big thank-you to everyone that assisted in any way, or came along to support both the meeting and 'An Evening with Lou Sansom' and so helped make them both very memorable evenings for everyone that was there - whether they be a rider, ex-rider or supporter.

Maybe we can do it all again in 10 years time at our 50th Anniversary.

Many thanks,

Tony Jackson
