f-s-p
When and were was it? Was it 6th round? When will be 5th? I have in terminlist Kaupunki Cup in Lahti 15.08 - do you know something about it? Tuesday at Pori, round six. 5th was rained off at Lahti last saturday and re-staged September 7th. Kaupunki Cup 1 that was rained off in May is at Pori on September 19th. Pairs final is at Pori on September 18th with Kemppi still without a new date. Lahti II was closed out from the Cup after two no shows and their home meeting on August 15th was scrapped. It was an excellent meeting yesterday... These during the week meetings add a little drama, there was an incident when Timo Lahti and Jari Mäkinen almost ended up in a punch up on the home straight, loads of controversial refereeing (which was a shame, but only will benefit the ref in the future as it was his first EL meeting) and a brilliant move by Hautamäki to pass Aarnio on the line. Teemu Lahti didn't score that heavily but was always there to help his partner. Siltaniemi had a fall while trying to pass the Lahti bros, a good move but he was forced too wide and ran out of room. Excellent team riding there by the brothers. Mäkinen/Lahti incident in heat five started as Mäkinen made a mistake exiting turn 2 and his bike started to lift. He wobbled abit and lost speed and as Lahti had already started to make a pass he got there pretty easily. Mäkinen's line had changed as his bike lifted more and he eventually had to let the bike go and it hit the beck end of Lahti's bike that halted at the end of the straight. Younger Lahti was furious and ready to drop his gloves as he walked towards the now up again Mäkinen and would probably have dropped Mäkinen again (well thats up for a debate, Timo is quite small compared ) unless his brother would have come to say there was no need as it was not intentional. Teemu was watching it all along 10 meters behind the pair. My call would have been to exclude Mäkinen as the cause but the ref decided on a all4back. I got to say that of a half a dozen people I spoke to, only one would have called it the same and that was Teemu Lahti. Weird meeting that way, nobody seemed to agree with me... f-s-p
Extraliiga and 80cc Suomen Cup tomorrow at Kauhajoki. EDIT: No protests from Pori... Also on saturday they are riding the Jensen Cup in Sweden and a few Finnish riders will be there and not able to ride in the EL meeting. Dont know if I've mentioned yet, but this season has seen some great speedway over here! Edited August 27, 2010 by f-s-p

f-s-p
Marko Hyyrylainen back on track? He has a break near 5 years? Yes. f-s-p
May be Juha Moksunen or Roj Malminheimo? I have nice photo of Roy from Vjunov Memorial in St.-Petersburg (Leningrad). I'm quite sure it's not Roy Malminheimo. He's more in to the recreational side of motorsports these days. Moksunen would probably still fit his old kevlars and was in fact named in one of the teams only about 4-5 years ago but I doubt him coming back as much as Malminheimo. Beating Kotkat by three (or more) points will give the title to Haukat. If they win by two, Kotkat will take the title. No reruns according to the rules. Jokerit will take bronze unless Haukat or Kotkat are a complete noshow. IF Haukat is 3rd on saturday and still win Kotkat by just two points, it's a tie and the rulebook has no solution. Good to remember also that Kotkat has a suspended penalty on their shoulder. Should they be one rider short or their team manager late from the briefing, thats minus three points from their tally and would actually give a realistic chance of a silver for Jokerit. f-s-p
This make's the standings at: Seura O-+-P Kotkat 7-29-219 Haukat 7-28-217 Jokerit 7-25-206 Paholaiset 7-15-143 Official ruling regarding Paholaiset at Kauhajoki (they rode the meeting with only three riders according to the federation results sheet) is that their team was full and there's no point deduction. Jari Mäkinen was there (I knew that) for the practise but left before the meeting due to illness. So the standings before the last round as follows: Seura O-+-P Kotkat 7-29-219 Haukat 7-28-217 Jokerit 7-25-206 Paholaiset 7-16-143 My mistake totally. I saw only three names in the results and thought the team was incomplete. Well, even Greg Hancock makes mistakes... davidba
Says in Speedway Star that Teemu Lahti could be on his way to join Tera at Scunthorpe. Be good to see him over here if this happens.
