Vicar
Not so many riders in Lahti and Seinajoki... I think Viljanen has one "3" less Something wrong with Olli Heikkilla (shouldn't he be last in 11th heat?) Why there is only one rider in some heats? Because of heat format for seven pairs? Why they didn't switch to 6 pairs format? Edited June 13, 2010 by Vicar
Bream
Injuries and mechanical problems. I think that Palmi blew his engine in training just before the match. So Seinäjoki-1 lost a rider. I injured ligaments from my ankle in a football game last week. So Seinäjoki-2 lost a rider. Dont know about problems of Lahti.

Why they didn't switch to 6 pairs format? There was a mistake on Viljanen's score on the excel sheet I got. You were right. O.Heikkilä indeed was last in heat 11. Would you believe that the heat had both Viljanen and O.Heikkilä finishing on 1 point? I do... But put Heikkilä for 4th and finishing last, that way the combined score adds up on both occasions. It's seven pairs because thats how it's been ridden from the first round and should be done so all the way through the season.
Vicar
It's seven pairs because thats how it's been ridden from the first round and should be done so all the way through the season. Yeah, I realize that. But nothing wrong would happened if they would change in this match heat format to six pairs. Just less heats with no full squad. f-s-p
- Finnish speedway was taking a break last weekend as an integral part of it was attending Provinssirock at Seinäjoki. Action resumes tomorrow, when the third round of the Extraliiga is staged at Lahti. - Round 4 that was rained off at Kauhajoki a week ago is now set on July 6th. - Vili Hautala is now also nominated for the 80cc YTG after Finland received a fifth place in the qualifiers. - Kalle Katajisto rides in Slovenia next weekend in the U21 semi while Kauko Nieminen is not all that pleased to get drawn to Togliatti's race off in the SGP quali's. - Timo Lahti was the first Finnish rider ever to qualify directly in to the U19 European final yesterday in the 10 or so year long history of the competition. Katajisto was the first Finn in the final last year, when he was upgraded in to the meeting after qualifying as a reserve from his semifinal. It'll be interesting to see how Lahti Racing manages to ride in Gorican on July 24th and then attend practise at Kings Lynn on July 26th. Best of luck to both! - Lahti II has now been thrown out of the Kaupunki Cup after failing to attend their second meeting of the season. Rest of the season will now be ridden with a 6 team format, as requested by Vicar earlier.
f-s-p
Extraliiga yesterday at LAhti. Nothing spectacular but a few good battles and chases. Jari Mäkinen was in the army so Jani Eerikäinen was covering for him. Haukat continues in the lead of the series to the final round of the spring half. Teams will have new averages after Kauhajoki's meeting for the final four meetings of the season and that is expected to create some debate how it will all turn out. Must? Alltough when talking about the financial side of the proceedings, thats exactly the word to use. I expect Palomäki to be there with Niko Siltaniemi, Timo Lahti and Kalle Katajisto. One more is a must but cant think of anyone else right now. Mika Loppi might fit the bill... I dont have the list right now of the eligible riders. EDIT: Jarkko Palmi and Mika Loppi are also eligible Edited June 25, 2010 by f-s-p

f-s-p
f-s-p, could you tell me if these meetings are taking place? Thanks no meetings swede´s are chicken:) I was away and offline, forgot to update this thread before signing out. Didn't lose sleep over it thouhg, which I think can be interpreted that I'm not lost yet... tremia is spot on. Micke Teurnberg had organised everything ready on the Swedish front and spoken to a bunch of riders that were ready and willing to come. Ferrytickets were waiting to be used but when the deadline was up, only a couple of riders were coming. The whole thing was cancelled then. It's a bit like can be gathered up from said things in the past year or two. Riders that would have made an impact are not bothered (no points money) and the rest not interested in putting in the time and effort, because they get to ride in Sweden during the weekend. Hopefully the trip to Sweden by the Finnish guys will happen, it's supposed to be on in the beginning of September again.
f-s-p
Extraliiga 4/8 at Kauhajoki last tuesday Haukat losing valuable points in this one. Kauko Nieminen making a rare appearance scoring a paid max. Timo Lahti again failing at Kauhajoki, like last year. I've seen him ride there maybe two years ago and he was absolutely flying over the ruts then, so I suspect that he's had some bike problems as tracks dont affect him usually. Next weekend sees the U21 final at Seinäjoki. No knowledge of the riders yet, even with the deadline having gone five days ago. Kaj Laukkanen will be in charge of the track in this one, looking forward to see how it'll go. Finnish Extraliiga wont continue until August 14th but there's a lot going on in the cabinets before that. Kotkat is under protest from other teams because missing/arriving late to the riders briefing twice this season (clearly against the rulebook) and this case will be handled hopefully before the start of the second part of the season. f-s-p
Funny, in longtrack champs he is participating, but in classic speedway champs not Funny as it is, I dont see it that way... There's somesort of co-operation with JK and Pasi Pulliainen and I have not really even bothered to find out what it is... But what is a fact that JK rode Pulliainen's bike's at Forssa. So to put it as it is, to fly in from UK to Helsinki by Easyjet (just an example) and get to the track to ride on "co-operation" machinery compared to get the bikes (speedway, as I think he has none of his own in Finland) by ferry to Finland and maybe miss a sunday meeting in Poland... Take a guess... Well actually Pulliainen has similar speedway bikes as JK, so to borrow one from him would probably not be a problem... EDIT: Also if you (and others) dont know, JK is leading the longtrack WC after 3/6 rounds and has won the last two rounds. Maybe getting some practise seemed a good idea, timing fitted and also the Forssa club that organised the final is his "parent" Finnish club at the moment.
