Grim Reeper
With the interest being shown by a number of top riders to get some meetings in the UK before the European leagues and GP’s kick off, would be good idea to start the UK season with a round of individual meetings held at each Elite league track? The meetings would be opened to all European and Commonwealth riders and invitations could be extended to riders above a certain average (based on averages at the close of the previous season). Each rider who agrees to take part must ride at every Elite track twice over a period of two months. Points will be accrued over the first rounds series and at the end the top thirty go forward to two semi finals in September and then a final in October when the outright winner would be crowned European & Commonwealth Champion. Obviously it needs a lot more thought but the suggestion is just a general idea to avoid pointless challenge matches and would give most riders a chance to try out equipment etc and then the league can get on with the domestic racing when hopefully the weather is a bit warmer. It would also make it a bit more interesting with the top riders over here again albeit without the commitment of being tied to league racing.
