That's another fine race you've gotten me in to.

The Bristol video sounds interesting, I only ever heard negative comments about Eastville, what was the racing like?

By the way there was a meeting at Wimbledon which was held as part of the world games quite a few years ago , absolutely blinding race between Alan Grahame and John Cook, two real hard chargers.

I went to Eastville a few times, including the opening meeting when there were traffic hold ups on the motorway because people were stopping their cars to watch. My mum was an old Bulldogs fan in the 1940s at the old Knowle circuit.

The track at Eastville was terrible. They actually raced on the same track as the greyhounds and a few riders pulled out half way through the meeting. One rider who always went well there, though, was Bernie Leigh who was a bit of a grass tracker.

I was going to bring a load of paper clips for you all the play with. They're so good, you can get loads of paper and fix them all together just by placing one in the top corner of the ream.

One member of the forum wouldn't let me do it, though, and threw them all away.

So one forum member spoils all the fun for those who enjoy the clips immensely ?

It's not like you are making money out of doing it, in fact its probably costing you !! I'm tempted to say "sod 'em" but as a moderator I suppose I should adopt a more responsible approach.

Would you care to expand on the grounds for the complaint ?

Probably the Bristol one that caused the email seeing it's from a current commercially available video. It's not like 12 seconds from an hour video would stop me from buying a video though, it would be more likely to make me want to buy it !!

Anyway I better continue with the responsible attitude and commend you for your actions. Still seems like political correctness gone mad though.

Grachan,

All you are doing is positively promoting speedway.

Probably more than anyone this winter except Tim Stone and Graham Drury.

More power to you, what can be wrong with that?

If any publicity is good publicity, you must have caused a few more Bristol videos to be sold and whetted fans appetites to go and watch racers in action. Ask for commission!

I doubt very much that LWT will sue, remember there are so many tribute websites out there that no action is taken upon. Don't worry!

Keep up the good work sir.

Any trouble and I'll send MY boys round to help.

I was doing what Speedway promoters should do to prevent rain-offs. I was covering my tracks. :)

Nice cake grachan. Really enjoyed it, but perhaps a Sponge one next time as I'm not too keen on Fruit Cake.

Many thanks for the slice. :)

I think you might be a bit biased here. What about down the back straight just before when Carter was giving Penhall the same treatment? When the incident happened Crump was on Penhall's inside and I think Kenny should have backed off as there wasn't enough room round the outside.

By the way, I am completely neutral on this because I used to like both Penhall and Carter. :)

Was it John Chaplin who said in last weeks S. Star that they should have both been excluded for on-track fighting. I wonder if there has ever been an incident where 2 riders have been excluded, or even if it's allowed within the rules.
