Thnx You can get a train between Nottingham and Wolverhampton (via Birmingham). It takes just under 2 hrs. You can check times and book tickets on http://www.thetrainline.com Ticket prices are usually lower if bought in advance on the web... T.N.T.
OK, The British Final is on Monday and despite there being no Tai Woffinden or Lee Richardson, there is still quite a few that COULD lift the British Title and claim the Wild Card for Cardiff a month later. No doubt Bomber and Nicholls will start as the favourites with Scott clear favourite to get the WC place.   However there is just cause to look at other contenders from the line up   EDWARD KENNETT has to be in with a good chance of yet another Cardiff space but his last few appearances at Monmore haven't been great and his gating could let him down in the big final.  SIMON STEAD has struggled at Monmore for the last few seasons and he would be a bit of a shock winner despite his recent good form.  LEWIS BRIDGER has had quite a few good scores at Wolves and with a grippy track he could give Scott a run for the Cardiff ride. One to watch here if up for the challenge.  DANIEL KING may have to beat Ashworth first but last Monday saw him give Lindgren a run for his money on this track but he also had to admit second best to little Lindgren too so its which King turns up in each race that counts here. Won his U18 title here a few years back.  OLIVER ALLEN may not have been a prolific scorer at away tracks in recent times but his scores at Monmore are quite impressive and if he is fit and ready he could be a good dark horse here. If you can get an E/W bet on him you may get a decent return !

dukes1966
I will kill myself laughing if King loses to Hall after his interview about getting his set-up for next week. Go get him Richard!!!
WembleyLion
I also recall Scott and Bomber met in heat one of the 2008 final at Swindon. Scott was at #2 and Chris at #4(the reverse of their riding numbers at Wolverhampton). Scott won the race and went on to win the meeting. Â World Cup star King should just be able to turn up to Wolves and beat Hally!! I wonder how many races King has rode at Wolves since Hall did about three/four years ago!! Come on Richard!! T.N.T.
Had really heavy rain falls today and there are some scheduled for tomorrow too. Â The Wolves track can take a good amount of water so if the rain mainly misses WV2 tomorrow the track should be excellent for the final with plenty of grip to suit the racers like Bomber, Scott, Bridger and Steady. Â Â Still have a weird feeling that Oliver Allen could spring the suprise in this one Edited June 13, 2010 by T.N.T.
stevebrum
Ill be watching this on SKY if its on. I wont be parting with 20 quid for a largely PL line with only nicholls, Bomber and Kennett likely to feature - with Stead as a threat. Â Bomber 1st Nicholls 2nd. Cant see any other way. 21st century heathen
Are Sky going to show the King/Hall race-off ? Â I assume so, but I wouldn't worry if not. I doubt you'll miss a good race. Most riders that are good at Sheffield but comparatively poor away are awful at Monmore. If Hall beats King fair and square at Monmore it will be one of the shocks of the season. I've got nothing against Hall. It's just that King is the better all-round rider and easily the better rider at Monmore. Â ----------------------------- Â I can't see anyone challenging Harris or Nicholls for the title. They're the top two on paper, on current form and based on their Monmore record. On paper Kennett should be third and the best bet as an outside to break into the top two, but his form is rather erratic this season. Stead is having a good season and in his younger years he was good value at Monmore. It could be an interesting battle between these two for the podium, but Bridger another that could challenge for a top three spot (must be in the mood and keep a cool head though). Allen should be the best of the rest as he can be useful without doing anything spectacular at Monmore. That said, Barker should be there or thereabouts as the best of the rest. It's not one of his favourite tracks but he tends to make up for it with sheer determination. Wright and Robo (if the latter stays on!! ) should be next in line. Robo has a good career record at Monmore and if the track is to his liking he could get in the way of a few and take potentially vital points away from higher placed riders. I fancy Schramm to top the chart of lower order ridera, perhaps challenged by Tully for that honour.
SCB
Still have a weird feeling that Oliver Allen could spring the suprise in this one Totally agree. All he has to do is plod into the semis (so beat the PL boys and 2 of Wright, Barker, Wright, Bridger, King....), he can pop out the start then in the semis and the final, anyone whos watched Olly with any regularity knows he can fly from the starts when he wants to and that he can beat the best at Monmore. Â If I was forced to pick a winner then it's Bomber, he's awesome at Monmore (has anyone else beta Freddie so many times there in the last 2 or 3 seasons?) but Ollys my dark horse. I'd love to see Jordan Frampton do something too, I think it's a bit beyond him but if he could be the top scoring PL rider and beat an EL rider or 2 he'll have done well. Mauger_Magic
Well done to Jason King last night. Notice there is no place for the greatest Diamond ever in your team?
Dornier
Think Ben might finish in the top three , anything could happen in the final , Bomber will need his gating head on to beat Scott although he is capable of passing at monmore as lindgren and tai will tell you
Fourentee
Kennett is my outside choice; big night experience and plenty of Monmore knowledge. There was a time a couple of years ago when he seemed to be guesting for or against Wolves virtually every fortnight.
