seanisnumber1
Well I hope Mr Woffinden has his day for GB but based on the below found on speedway star website who knows: - The semi at Sheffield was rained off after 12 heats with Woffy failing to make the cut. “There was meant to be a ballot to decide which riders went where, but I could have gone to King’s Lynn,” said Tai, referring to the other semi-final venue. “It makes me wonder why I chose to race for Britain. I still can ride for Australia I guess, there’s nothing stopping me.”

Trees
Talk about spitting the dummy! Now he wants to take his ball and run back to Oz? More like he's highlighting how the UK doesn't go out of their way to help their own riders!! The EL boys qualified as expected. They were taking some different lines round the NA to what I expect, right wide on the 2nd bend and the same on the 4th. Nobody tried any cutbacks or anything. Richardson made that mistake on the 1st/2nd bend and crashed awkwardly, that was the end of his night, possibly the end of his first go at EL racing this season for a while too, dunno how badly he's injured. Good to see Darren Mallett holding his own again, keep up the great work!! Edited May 13, 2010 by Trees
Daniel Smith
Awful, awful, awful meeting last night. Track was prepared the slickest I've probably ever seen it which I called at the start of the meeting as a gate & go track, which is exactly what was served up to a disappointed paying public. Couple of nasty looking crashes which I hope all are OK but when a National League rider provides most of the entertainment & track reserve at that it just shows how poor it was last night. I could have walked out after the first 8 heat but as always stuck around in hope that it would get better. It didn't I'm sooooo looking forward to the World Cup meeting now, NOT

Eagles_Fan
Just out of interest was Darren Mallett unable to take his place in the run off for the last spot? Or did he opt out to, or is it a case of reserves not being allowed? Shame it hadn't gone on countback as Darren won a race! Reserve scores don't count, if only for the fact that they don't get five rides against all fifteen of the opponents in normal circumstances. They are literally there just to make up the numbers. Grachan
I can't believe that statement from Woffinden! Very dissapointing. hopefully it was just said in the heat of disappointment having not qualified. Well done Steady. And tough luck Rico. Hope he's ok. No tweets yet today! Not like him! squall
Reserve scores don't count, if only for the fact that they don't get five rides against all fifteen of the opponents in normal circumstances. They are literally there just to make up the numbers. I heard a few years ago that if a reserve replaces a rider for an entire meeting then his score counts. Eg. Rider number 1 crashes on 1st bend and is carted off to hospital, ref calls for all 4 back, reserve takes place of rider number 1 for that one riders 5 rides, his score counts
