lucifer sam
Just in the midst of s shower, but it's bright over yonder... Shame the meeting is at Brandon Stadium and not Yonder then. Just about to set off. All the best Rob
bobxski
Officially he is working on his bikes which have ignition problems. Unofficially could it be Matt doesn't want Poole riders risking their necks in meaningless fixtures? So why is it that Matt wants Swindon to go back to Poole for a rarranged challenge match next Wednesday????

speedybee
Blimey, that was a yawn fest... despite the announcer continually saying it was an exciting, entertaining meeting. Roll on next week!
bluebee
Blimey, that was a yawn fest... despite the announcer continually saying it was an exciting, entertaining meeting. Roll on next week! As I feared and I take no pleasure in saying so. It's too early in the season for good racing. The riders are still shaking off the cobwebs and the weather's too cold or too wet or both. One off individual meetings mean nothing especially if they are sandwiched amongst he pre-season runabouts called challenges. It probably won't run next season now. SCB
OMG. I thought I was going to die of boredom. And since when did the announcer go down the Sky route of telling us how great a rubbish meeting is? Final was a farce. Note to the riders tonight (mainly Nicki Pedersen and Troy Batchelor), a speedway race is 4 laps at all times, not just when you're in a point scoring position. Authorised
I agree with the comments. Boring, processional and needlessly dragged out until 11pm. Rory - different to the rider I saw 6 days ago at Glasgow, and was pleased for him. Promising signs for Coventry riders, but as suggested above, not a pointer to the season. (or if it was relevant, maybe Hans Andersen should have been in the Coventry team!) A meeting that will be quickly forgotten about. Hopefully they can change the time of the season for this event. Silver Bee
Utter rubbish. Nearly 3 hours of just uninterested riders riding round on a far from perfect track. Final was a joke. Clear all 4 back in the first running of the final. Then in the second it was surely Rorys fault Crump packed up? And even if it wasn't, the rest of the race was diabolical. Worst final I have ever seen with neither remaining rider remotely interested in riding with the throttle open. I used to love individual meetings. These days riders just can not be bothered. Pointless. Gutted for Kennett who was bloody good. Robbed of 2 wins by bike failiures, including an easy win over Peddy and Crump, too. Sandie
Have to agree with most of the points above. It was along tedious meeting and with a large number of heats only ending with three riders I feel cheated and want a refund! And Mr Watters - why could you not have awarded that heat (god knows what number - i had lost the plot by then) - you know the one that had already completed 3 laps!!!! I used nasty swear words towards you - and Im normally such a nice person. And the final. Silver Bee blames Rory but I would say - get used to it mate -you are going to see some strong hard riding this season. You moan when he's too soft and now your whinging when hes to tough. Learn to live with it SB!!!!

Learn to live with it SB!!!! Blames Rory? I'm not 'whinging' about anything except the poor standard of reffing. Wonder how happy you and the Schleins would have been had Crump barged passed Rory and caused his bike to cut-out, though!
lucifer sam
Nice idea to bring back the Brandonapolis, but horrible execution. Surely a 22-heat meeting should be started before 8.00pm - the near 11.00pm finish is just too late, especially for those who had children there. After a very, very slow start, the meeting finally started to pick up towards the end of the 20 heats. But there's then a huge gap between Heat 20 and the semi-final and another between the semi and the final, and as a result the rain starts again and the final, held on a greasy track, turns into an absolute farce with Hans Andersen pootling around to win the meeting, after Harris falls and then Schlein hits Crump and both suffer machinery trouble. And in case anybody thinks Pedersen had two engine failures, he didn't. He just gave up twice whilst in fourth place. No fight at all from Nicki tonight, when he didn't gate he just drifted backwards and wasn't interested. All the best Rob

WembleyLion
But there's then a huge gap between Heat 20 and the semi-final and another between the semi and the final... All the best Rob I agree Rob and have often found it difficult to understand such lengthy delays but that's Speedway I guess. Anyway well done to Hans Andersen. crazysue
Should have tried updating it on very little sleep.....I was almost asleep by the end! And those delays, I kept thinking my phone was on the blink, turning it on and off, waving it in the air (it does work!) etc..the meeting just seemed to go and on and on and on. JSR
Utter rubbish. Gutted for Kennett who was bloody good. Robbed of 2 wins by bike failiures, including an easy win over Peddy and Crump, too. Think Kennet was his own worst enemy in his 1st failure as I think he did not turn his fuel on.
