This coming Saturday I'm off to help out the regular announcer at the meeting being held at Maryborough in

Queensland and as well as Darcy Ward, Joe Haines, Damien Koppe, Mitchell Davey, Scott Smith etc being amongst the

solo nominations there's also a certain CRAIG HYDE!

Really looking forward to catching up with Craig again and seeing how he fares on track too!

Very good meeting in front of a large crowd.

The big fast Maryborough track stood up well to an enormous amount of events.

Highlights for me were the clash between Scott Smith and Darcy Ward (Smith made the slightest mistake and Ward was through but Smith fought back..very close) , Smith was also involved in a very good race with Craig Hyde who held him off for three laps after a great outside swoop where he also overtook Mitchell Davey). Joe Haines was the top scorer in the heats and he had a real battle with Ward as did Damion Koppe. Haines led the final briefly until his spak plug cable came adrift.

Due to the success of this meeting organisers are looking at bigger events and more regular racing.

If you mean young Nick Morris, Dave, then yes he is most certainly venturing over, but not to Pomgolia, he is instead heading for gods own country, having signed a contract to link up with the Glasgow Tigers. As he doesnt turn 16 until June he will start off in the NL with the Buxton Hitmen. Seen him a few times last season and he looks to have natural talent, if a little raw and inexperienced on the 500s at the time. I am confident the Glasgow promotion have signed a goodun' :approve: They have also snapped up another young Aussie, in the shape of Michael Penfold, who will be coming over in the summer to get himself acclimatised to the UK scene.

Great to read Scott is still winding it on and wowing the crowds. :approve:
