Appeal From Debrecen

By favour of our riders the town name Debrecen reached many points of the world, many riders reached worldwide success, and foreigner riders also like the track of Debrecen.

The speedway stadium has been sold to the Divínus Real Estate Found. The management of Divínus does not rule out from the further release of the stadium, but the Debrecen Speedway SE (the operator of the stadium) can not pay the rent price. In case the town of Debrecen does not help the Debrecen Speedway SE, the Speedway sport will end. This fact would mean, that in a few years the speedway sport will end up in Hungary, because the only (!) supply-trainer base was also the Debrecen Speedway SE.

We ask with a petition the management of Debrecen, to not turn back, do not leave the speedway sport of debrecen.

Hundreds of people already signed this petition in Hungary, later on, a demonstration will happen with motocycles and riders, to get more signatures at the square, where we plan to invite different media too. We hope, if they see that foreigner people get shocked too by this event, they will help out the hungarian speedway.

The Speedwaylive.hu website is stand out in favour of saving the track. For this action, the co-worker of Speedwaylive.hu is contacted a lot of foreign speedway riders, who gave positive response. They will join to us with their subscription to save the track. We would like to ask every supporters to help us to save the fate of this track.

Everyone can sign the petition on 21. of December in 2009 within the contines of a peaceful demonstration at the main square of Debrecen.

Looks like the track has closed . Just received an email from the UEM with the cancellations of the UEM meetings in Debrecen.

 

"Following the next closure of the Hungarian track of Debrecen, the Qualifying Round 2 of the Individual Speedway European Championship scheduled on the 1st of July and the Semi-Final 2 of the European Pairs Speedway Championship of the 20th of August were cancelled.

 

They will be recovered as follows:

30th of June Diedenbergen (Germany) Individual Speedway European Championship, QR 2

21st of August Opole (Poland) European Pairs Speedway Championship, SF 2."
