Baille
I'll be at the meeting with some copies of the Trackmaster card game. They will be going on sale for £1.50 each with £1 from each sale to go to the SRBF. If you want a copy then simply look for my son wearing his Coventry Bees racejacket with Rooboy#5 on the back. Or get Searley or Colin Cooke to point me out. Karl Prediction for final: Crump Woffinden Kennett Lindgren

westhamboy66
I think this meeting will be so successful that there will be terrible problems with people trying to park near the stadium and trying to get it. Wonder if the start will get delayed. This meeting should have been held at a track with better infrastructure Of course you are correct. Rye offers a car park free of charge street parking and a train station that runs directly to London within a 100 yard walk. Where would you suggest? Birmingham? Belle Vue? Workington? Berwick? Glasgow? Edinburgh? Newcastle? Newport? Redcar? need I go on? All of those quoted are tracks with infrastructure either on par or worse than Rye. This means you believe that it should of gone to Coventry Peterboro etc those tracks in other words that get a fair share of big meetings. Dare I suggest that one of the reasons that this meeting will be so popular is that people want to see the likes of crump Pedersen etc around Rye. I'm sure that there will be many people going to rye for the first time who enjoy the prospect. If it's a delayed start that concerns you then perhaps Speedway is the wrong sport for you. delays happen all the time ask Jon Cook at Lakeside for instance

Road leading down towards the stadium, allowed to be filled up both sides. Road on the right leading down towards the stadium also allowed to be filled. That in itself can fit more cars than any PL team needs, it doesn't even get completely used when the NYC goes on which attracts a large crowd. Not saying this meeting should have been at Newport, meetings like this you'd go to no matter where they are held
Sandie
thans for all the parking info.is there a racecard on here anywhere In the programme at a guess... Not quite the answer they were looking for really was it! Sorry Bruno, cant help but hopefully someone can pull a racecrad together for you. Only been to Rye house a couple of times and I have a slight worry. Gates open 11 or 11.30am apparently according to someone last night (not read back through the thread sorry). So some people will head off to the stadium very early. Am I right in saying there is only one road leading up to the stadium? If so, and all this congestion is expected, can we expect a delayed start as the riders wont be able to get into the stadium??
srbramble
Not the only worry for me. As the gates open at 11am, I assume that many will start drinking when the bar opens. That's going to give people about 3 hours drinking time before a wheel has turned, let alone the 2 hours or so meeting time. Are we to suffer some of the drunken behaviour experienced by a few at Cardiff? Edited March 13, 2010 by srbramble

Tomorrow probably won't have much more than 3000, if that!!! Get a life

Some can't enjoy themselves unless they are well p1ssed, and their usual obnoxious behaviour will undoubtedly affect some poor saps afternoon. Remember, no security at Rye, and that means the chavs policing themselves. Should be interesting. As it is the first meeting of the season there will be a big crowd there but can Rye House cope. If it were next Sunday no problem but this is the first meeting of the season and everybody will want to get their "fix" of speedway. I do not mind where the meeting goes (Rye House is my 2nd closest track) but I would liked it gone to a big track and have an even bigger crowd because the profits go to the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund. How can you argue with that. It's nothing to do with clubs having their fair share of meetings it's about how much money can be raised for a very important charity. Delayed starts do not happen all the time probably in the region of 2%. My own track did not have one delayed meeting last season.

Pinny
Have to say, Pedersen, Crump, Lindgren and Adams should really be in the final. Should be a decent meeting. Hoping to have a few jars in the sun and to meet some of these crazy forumers who have PM'd me saying they would "very much like to meet me" . See you there
