Parsloes 1928 nearly
Been in the loft..: got the prog. from the Crayford vs. Stoke (NL) match 26/4/77.. Abandoned due to traditional Tuesday rain in the north-west Kent area!! While looking at this particular prog. I note that in the fixtures for that year (1977), Crayford had - as was traditional - a couple of double-headers planned.. but on this occasion styled these meetings as: "Double Feature Progs" (sic). Made me chuckle as I'd forgotten completely this attempt at cinematic styling..! Can anyone else recall any completely non-Speedway type descriptions or hyperbole used to promote meetings..?? salty
I always remember in the Cradley programmes of the early 70's in the "Murmurings from the Management" we were never referred to as fans or supporters, but patrons! As in "patrons are reminded to desist from crossing the the greyhound track during the after match tractor ride" Edited November 30, 2009 by salty
