Najjer
No disrespect to the line up but Somerset for me. £5 cheaper and they have Crump, Andersen and Sayfutdinov. ... Not forgetting Somerset track specialist Niels K Iversen, Greg Walasek, Lee Richardson, Sebastion Ulamek and Lewis Bridger, amongst many many other possible winners on the night. Al Stewart
thats incredable when you think on it, i wonder how embra can justify that price That is entirely the wrong question. If you saw the costs of the meeting you would see the admission is justified. the question is how can Somerset consider charging so little. I really don't know the answer to that. Thischarmingman
thats incredable when you think on it, i wonder how embra can justify that price You should probably turn that question on its head and ask how Somerset can charge such a low price for that line up - either someone's willing to underwrite the huge extra cost or they're gambling on a massive crowd to cover it. Edinburgh on the other hand, use the Scottish Open to make some money to cover the inevitable losses that will occur at some meetings through the season, it's hard to argue with that really. While I'm not a big fan of Individual Open meetings, and I think £18.00 is a bit too much, the extra will no doubt be justified by having more riders to pay expenses for than a regular team match, and about 7 extra races. Do your team Glasgow charge extra for the Ashfield Classic each year, I'm fairly sure they do.
GlasgowBoy2
There not charging any extra for Sundays meeting wich includes Screen, Kennet, Barker, Schlein etc

Do your team Glasgow charge extra for the Ashfield Classic each year, I'm fairly sure they do. Last year Glasgow charged an extra £1 for the classic which I feel was fair enough based on the line up. However I feel that Edinburgh are letting the fans down by including all seven home riders. OK, I understand that it gives the newer boys a run out, but to charge fans an extra £3 is a bit much. Just wish Somerset was a lot closer, that I would pay £18 to see (never mind the £13 they are charging).

I think the price is a little too much as I've said. As with anything, the paying customer will ultimately decide on the pricing structure, the crowd level will determine whether the price is justified or not. If it's a decent day weatherwise and a healthy crowd turns up then it's hard to argue with the prices. If the crowd is only average, the promotion will have to think again next time a meeting like this comes up. It would be crazy for Edinburgh not to include all seven riders for the first meeting of the season , particularly with 3 of them team being fairly unfamiliar with the track. Would be a bit daft to not give them as much practice as possible, but to give Glasgow's top two practice before next Friday?
Paulco
Taken from the Monarchs Chatzone:- The line up is: 1. Andre Compton 2. Michal Rajkowski 3. Michal Makovsky 4. Matthew Wethers 5. Kalle Katajisto 6. Andrew Tully 7. James Wright 8. Kevin Doolan 9. Jozsef Tabaka 10. James Grieves 11. William Lawson 12. Travis McGowan 13. Paul Clews 14. Kevin Wölbert 15. Ryan Fisher 16. Max Dilger Not a bad line up. Would love a Monarchs winner BUT it could be anyones meeting. Since it's nearly all Monarch's riders in the field , there must be a decent chance
SCOTLAND1314
Personally looking forward to attending the Legendary Scottish Open meeting at the Scottish San Siro of Speedway. Here's to a Rip Snortin' meeting on the country's best prepared racing circuit.

DavyH
Since it's nearly all Monarch's riders in the field , there must be a decent chance 7 out of 16 is "nearly all Monarchs?" There must be an adult learning centre that can help you with Arithmetic Paulco? next you'll be losing count of how many pints you have had

If you saw the costs of the meeting you would see the admission is justified. the question is how can Somerset consider charging so little. I really don't know the answer to that. no i disagree that its entirely the wrong question, edinburgh can obviously charge what they want but the price of entry certainly doesnt encourage non edinburgh fans to attend. if i had to persuade my other half to go aswell as bringing the two boys then its a hefty price to see the 7 monarchs and 2 elite league guys who are familiar faces to scottish fans, especially when you consider mcgowan screen grieves barker kennett and schlien are in glasgow 2 days later. that said i hope both meetings are a big success

There must be an adult learning centre that can help you with Arithmetic Paulco? next you'll be losing count of how many pints you have had I meant that the hosting club don't normally have all 7 of their riders riding in their individual meetings . The norm is maybe 3 or 4 , with the others possibly getting drafted in when the inevitable call-offs happen .
