Midnight_Lady
I meant that the hosting club don't normally have all 7 of their riders riding in their individual meetings . The norm is maybe 3 or 4 , with the others possibly getting drafted in when the inevitable call-offs happen . The difference being most individual meetings don't open a season so it's not the norm. That's why all seven riders are in the line-up.

I understand that , giving the riders track time and all that . That's good for Monarchs fans , but hardly tempting for the rest of us to fork out 18 quid for . But i hope the meeting is a success , but i'll wait 7 days before visiting the Dale for the first time this season .

ChrissySW
Last year Glasgow charged an extra £1 for the classic which I feel was fair enough based on the line up. However I feel that Edinburgh are letting the fans down by including all seven home riders. OK, I understand that it gives the newer boys a run out, but to charge fans an extra £3 is a bit much. Just wish Somerset was a lot closer, that I would pay £18 to see (never mind the £13 they are charging). I agree in respect to the home riders thing. Was speaking to a few guys earlier this week, and they were saying that in the not too distant past, it was 2 or 3 of the best Monarchs at a push in the Scottish Open, along with some of the other genuinely top riders from the Division, maybe a few from the League above. Kevin Doolan, Andre Compton, Travis McGowan - good PL heat-leaders. Fisher, Wolbert, Tully, Wethers - justified participants. James Wright - good standard EL rider. The rest, not particularly impressive. Be looking for more genuine top-liners, but I know that may be tough with others riding on a Friday. Here's to a good meeting nonetheless. David Johnston
nice one james ... revenge over the fish for last years ashfield classic. Most of the field seem to have fell of at some point. James seems to have been one of the lucky ones who stayed out the melee to take the win. Seem to remember him having a good night when Belle Vue were at Armadale last season and when Workington were there 2 or 3 seasons ago. BongoBrian
Well done James Wright Should set him on his way to a great season with BV ! Thanks also to all the Edinburgh fans, I actually had a fun night and.... well.... didn't end up deceased at the end of it .... small mercies eh? Special mention to Ryan Fisher.... your a star dude, rode like a demon and a gentleman to boot! To all, this was a nice pre-warm up (the real warm up being Coventry )... but, hope this season is a complete ball for all who love speedway. See ya all soon, Bongo *;o)
Daniel Smith
Lets just hope that Katajisto, Wolbert, Dilger & Tabaka keep up that form as that would be just what that average manipulating team / promotion deserves
