BOBBATH
Ian Martin -glad you got there-if you enter World Speedway Finals in there you can see heats from I think 1969 and 1957-also I enter in sometimes "77 Sunset Strip" and watch bits of old episodes(ditto Sgt. Bilko),its amazing what is on there-I am interested in history-entered in Stanley Baldwin and saw him give an election broadcast in the early thirties-had never heard his voice before. Of course also your favorite singers movie stars etc-even entered(metaphorically of course) Shirley Ann Field and saw her(sigh) in the 60's movie "Beat Girl" with Adam Faith and Oliver Reed(RIP).Youtube is a wonderful site. P.S. Notice how I worked speedway in there so its consistent with our guidelines for discussion!!!
BOBBATH
Brian Hamilton-can't help you there Brian -are used to get videotapes of the old World Finals sent to me-then I had to take them to a specialty shop and they were transferred to North American compatibility but don't know the answer re DVD's-was thinking of purchasing Malcolm Simmons DVD from Uk but knew I would run into your problem in reverse so couldn't be bothered-perhaps an electronics/computer store in UK could help? tele52
Bobbath, I viewed the Range Rider Film sites and was ready to order Volumes 1-5 but discovered that my UK DVD Player may not be suitable so I emailed them to ask for the spcifications. They came back very quick and said that The format required is 'Region 1' and they doubted that mine would be suitable. Any thoughts? Best wishes Brian If you have a UK specific DVD player the chances are it is region 2 and will not play region 1 discs. However some are sold as non-region in the UK and will be ok, if you check your player it will tell you this on the manufacturers label or in the manual. However as it is software (with the odd exception) that determines the region it may be possible to convert your machine to play both region 1 and 2, if you google the make and model of your machine then there are several sites that will tell you how to do it. Hope this helps
speedyguy
After reading the Thread on What's my Line it got my memory banks working. Takes a lot these days believe me. It made me wonder if anyone out there remembers the good old days on the Telly with 'Rawhide', 'Wagon Train' and the 'Cisco Kid' etc...................... I mourn their passing. OR - am I just SAD? Didn't the 'Cisco Kid' ride for Eastbourne in 1954 and later have a successful career in stock cars, mainly at West Ham? 'Cisco Kid' aka Johnny Fry - also second halfs West Ham, Oxford, Yarmouth and Rayleigh. A bit of a character off-track...!
