Dekker
Looks to me like AJ was caught napping and was surprised Gollob got by at such speedway and had nowhere to put his foot. from the you tube clip i would have been hard pressed to exclude gollob, however that's just 1 view head on might be more revealing. Barney Rabbit
The clip shows even clearer how Tomasz' rear end drifted into AJ's foot as he entered the apex of the bend just as AJ put his foot to the floor to enter it. If Tomasz had rode correctly into the bend instead of a sharp angle there would have been no contact. My opinion has been cemented even more so by this clip so thank you for that Mateusz. It was a racing incident but someone had to go as has been said, the ref got it wrong. As you say, a 'racing incident'. Both could claim to be wrongly excluded for the actual incident, but one fell, one didn't. The fallen rider caused the stoppage. IMO, the ref got it right. Sprog1
Just "watched" this pile of poo on Sky this morning. What joke that ref was. The most clear, obvious decision to be made and he bottles it for his countryman. It was clear to see at every angle that Gollob took Jonssons leg away. He came under Jonsson, there wasn't room, he clipped AJ's leg, down came AJ, and AJ gets excluded with the ref saying there was no contact!!!! Is he blind? I hope the FIM take immediate action and remove him immediately frommthe roster. He is incapable of making an honest decision when it comes to Polish riders. I think that is the key point that people are missing. The referee was specifically reported to have said that there was no contact when virtually every re-play angle pplayed on Sky showed that there WAS contact. The ref could possibly have dressed it up in some other way to keep Gollob in but to exclude AJ on the grounds of no contact was diabolical. Still, as we all know this is what Polish referees are about. Edited May 23, 2010 by Custer Mouse
Midnight_Lady
Gollob went into the bend out of control, FACT. Not FACT. Gollob was in total control.
T.N.T.
Schoolboy error from Hampel by not choseing blue in the final ...by the semi final it was the best gate and in fact Hampel had just won of it . Bjerre and AJ both had first picks in the semi-finals and for some reason both opted for red and both failed to make it to the final. Then in the final, Hampel picks first ... chosses red and is done by Gollob off blue. After the interval, Gate 2 won SIX of the EIGHT heats and then two of the following heats. Gate 1 had only won ONE race after the interval and finished 3rd or 4th in 7 of the last 11 races. ..... Thought Hampel was clearly going for Blue but obviously worried about being pushed out on turn one. To those saying AJ was robbed, what did Gollob do wrong? He was ahead, AJ turned left into him. Well of course AJ turned left , thats what most riders do when entering a corner , unless they either have (a) a death wish ( a desire to check out the air fence © maybe both Gollob made a dash like he always has done , and yes he was slightly in front , but carrying that speed he definately took AJ's leg from under him . The replays were conclusive. It was no dying swan act . It was blatant patriotism from the ref . For me it was a racing accident and if I had to decide which rider was at fault, then I would have to go with AJ being the cause as Gollob had edged in front .... he kept to the white line ..... there was minimal contact and had he not turned when he did, then he would have been in the air fence with AJ. I do have the thought that AJ actually stood up just before contact as he saw Zorro coming inwards while leading and looked to be making a switch to the outside ..... split second incident, but cant really fault Gollob for racing ! bruno
must admit i thought aj was looking for it.difficult decision but someone had to go .i reckon if gollob had gone then the arguments would have been the same best of luck to emil but feel this was an accident waiting to happen
colincooke
Not FACT. Gollob was in total control. I suppose you could say that in the context of he knew exactly what he was doing when his back end went outwards.
ladyluck
I suppose you could say that in the context of he knew exactly what he was doing when his back end went outwards. Turning into the corner - the back ends of speedway bikes tend to go outwards when turning on the slide. Jonsson recognised that Gollob had him beaten and that he was in the middle of nowhere on the track. He had to yield or hit the fence and chose the latter. As for the referee, didn't he exclude Gollob in similar circumstances at Lonigo a couple of year's ago?
manchesterpaul
Ref made a terrible decision - it cost me over £100 which I would have won on Jonsson. Corals must have bribed him. If so they bribed him to make the wrong decision for them, as i won a very tidy four figure sum on Gollob.

Reviresco
Another Masterclass from TG on a track that by all experts' opinion shouldn't suit him. Heat 14 was just magnificent from the best motorcycle rider in the world. AJ should know by now that he can't just bail out and expect to get back in a race. How many times does he do this? Cracking language for the TV too AJ - you should learn your responsibilities buddy as a lot of children watch the Sky coverage. A Second SGP lost by Hampel from a bad choice of Final gate position. Well done Zorro - you have proved many people wrong. I hope that the Championship stays this open until the end.
BWitcher
There's sliding outwards.............................................................. and there's sliding outwards You are harping on as if Gollob ran AJ out to the fence and left him nowhere to go. Gollob was as close to the inside as you can get.

SCOTLAND1314
Not FACT. Gollob was in total control. I hope Gollob's performance last night (and in Gothenburg) will be repeated until the season end. The decision in the semi final is obviously controversial, and there will always be opposing views for these kind of moments. Personally, I prefer to remember heat 14, in which, I believe only the Big Man could have achieved the race win, in those track conditions. CMV06
Anyone who thinks Gollob was in the right and that fat **** of a referee isn't a cheating ******** are seriously deluded. I'm just thankful (yet again) that AJ hasn't been seriously injured by that animal.
