HenryW
explane to us how this growing naturally works - cos i'm not sure ive heard thatr before I presume that he means waiting until they have got to a level where they can regularly compete with/defeat the top riders in other competitions, rather than just chucking them into the SGP and hoping that they don't sink under the pressure... spook
by all means Blackbird It involves that strange thing of waiting until someone is ready...... rather than wishing him to survive based on the stir he has created on Sky .................maybe a minimum of an 8 point average in all of the big leagues is a good starting point? ....... enough time in the sport to gather enough sponsorship and the right crew for the highest level?........ Is 4 years in the sport before going head to head with Tomasz in Bydgoszcz enough? Nicki at Cardiff? i'm concerned with some of the decisions being made and the motives behind them if this is more than just a rumour.............. this smacks of a short term decision based on one or a few persons idea of what is good financially ........ but imo it is playing poker with the long term careers of two of our brightest hopes would you prefer a more well recognised speedway cliche to be trundled out Blackbird? ..............."Disappointment at the back for the young Brit"? He was already delivering against the top guys before he was invited in, and he also had a fantastic back-up team thanks to his very generous benefactor in Bydgoszcz. I would love to see someone like Tai make a similar impact on the SGP stage, but I worry that he might suffer in the manner that Toninho did... They should be given the odds for it to happen already.
Peregrinner
Give the BRITISH place to Chris Harris. He has struggled because Ole Olsen insists that there should be no dirt on the tracks. Once there is some dirt about, he will be a superstar, passing the white line riders. He is the man for us when Grands Prix get back to REAL speedway. Here's hoping. He has struggled because Ole Olsen insists that there should be no dirt on the tracks. Once there is some dirt about, he will be a superstar, passing the white line riders. He is the man for us when Grands Prix get back to REAL speedway. Here's hoping. Surely the mark of a true quality rider is one who can ride all track surfaces? The riders know what surface Olsen prepares for the GPs', he's done it often enough, and the riders should be competent enough to adapt their set-ups to adapt to them. Sorry, Harris is a good and exciting rider, but he is not in the same league as the top riders, if he was he would have been their by now. People are still living off his Cardiff performance, which unfortunately was a 'one off'.
Sprog1
Surely the mark of a true quality rider is one who can ride all track surfaces? True, and that is the strongest argument there is for having a variety of track surfaces at the GP's.

If he's good enough then he should have had the ability to qualify on his own track. westhamboy66
What about commentators? Are you referring to commentators or Announcers, you know those who waffle on get all of their speedway free then verbally assault anyone who has the cheek to mention their lack of ability? If I hear his name mentioned again, in the same breath as wildcard, I think I'll scream. I admire the loyalty shown by his adoring fans, but back in the real world, there is no justification for giving him yet another chance to blow the opportunity, when there are more deserving riders out there. No faulting is team and equipment, which means there is another reason for his dismal displays, himself. As they say, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. wotnoaj
Have to agree with srbramble, there is no justification for his inclusion. As for Peregrinner saying he would be a superstar given a bit of dirt............really!!?? I think you're kidding yourself there.

To be honest he is still young enough to make a go of it but may be take a year out..................and anyway as someone else said if as reigning British Champion he is not offered it it would be wrong............(had forgotten about that point) but I still maintain that really there is no British rider who should be there by right as there are none good enough to maintain consistant form for a full GP series.............. Phil Silvers
re read my post.......................I did say if he has grudges not that he has.....................and everyone is entitled to a blow out now and again................a shame its happened in a couple of GP's this year................ I did not accuse Tai of having a quick temper...................I said he is hot headed.............there is a difference..............If you want hot headed and quick tempered I suggest you don't cross me because I am both of those............... I don't know why you seem to think I don't like Tai because I think he is one of the best prospects we have had in years.............I am just putting across a view I believe would be more beneficial in the long term for his career prospects...............
