It goes without saying that many brits will do the same, me included, but that's not the arguement here. Of the 4 names mentioned as possible wildcards, his is the most rediculous.

Well said. I am a fan of Ed and I would love him to do well, but that doesn't mean I think he justifies selection. We have seen how the GP's chew up and spit out riders that struggle.

Ed is nowhere near top of the averages for British riders. Nor is Tai.

So Kennett is not the top rider in the uk  so much for logic

But as I said in my post he is the top averaged Brit that hasn't had numerous GP chances ?.

Is he the highest placed Brit in his National Championship with out GP experience.

Yes,people shouldn't go over the top about this.Maybe as a friend or family you take it all the wrong way.I am sure every last one of us will be willing Ed on if he gets this place......but as we are discussing the possibility or the good probability that he will be in the GPs at least let us state the obvious.......that he doesn't really deserve it on merit. He is only getting it because he is a brit and anyone better than him that is British(and there are a number)has already flunked it.And imo i don't believe Ed will progress much further than he already has, even if he manages to get a million quid in sponsorship.Sometimes there are riders who are more suited to the GPs than maybe their league performances show.Bjerre, because of his style and maybe personality is one of those. We will have to hope Ed belongs to that small group.I doubt it very much though. If he was Polish or Danish he would probably still be waiting to make his SWC debut, let alone find himself nominated for the GPs.Fact  ....i think

Eddie Kennett in the GP's Dont make me laugh.

Good solid young rider but its been proven on numerous occasions, at Cardiff & World Cup, that he isn't currently good enough. His record on bigger tracks is poor.

If he went into the GP's he would probably finish last in each round.

We should get behind the Brits, push them, but only when ready and he isn't ready yet.

Well if it's true and I hope it is, I've got my betting slip ready as have 250/1 on Edward Kennett being World Champion by 2012 ....

The only way to win this bet would be for him to be in the GPs.

You have 2 years to make me rich Edward :approve:

Oh and Mr Bridger you have 2 years also ..... got 200/1 on you!

Visit gamblers anonymous or let me take your bets.

There should be no Brits in the GP in 2010 except for Cardiff when obviously to have a couple of Brits will attract more ticket sales. For GP's in other countries the local customers don't care if there are any Brits and those travelling abroad from this country or watching on SKY at home, dont watch to see the Brits come last, they watch to see the likes of Crump, Nicki, Emil etc. In fact if you don't have any Brits more people may go to overseas GP's as they will not have to put up with the embaressment of seeing their countrymen perform so badly.

Also it is totally unfair on more talented riders that they should be denied a place in the GP's to enable a couple of Brits to get a place. If a British ridere gets a wildcard and the GP's are advertised as "THE Best Riders In The World" then BSI (or whoever is running it now) should be sued under the Trade Descriptions Act.

how do you mean?

Presumably Myself and a few others can be blamed for the parlous state of british speedway at the moment because i stated no current british rider desrves to be in the GPs on merit. And of course so far i have been proved..............right  I have broad enough shoulders.Don't blame the riders, don't blame the promoters, don't blame the system, blame a few fans on this forum for saying it like it is  The rest of the world shakes their head and cries,we should big the riders up,just like every world Cup people think the english football team stand a pretty good chance of winning the thing

If Kennet is in GP probably due to sponsership he could bring with him ,money talks.Woofy was talking the same story if he is picked.

In which way, what company is Kennett bringing in to sponsor a GP or two during his season in the GP.

Kennet and Woffinden and two totally different stories, wake up.

Second fact to this matter is that no other word regarding the WC's is given since a "torunboss" said Kennett and Woffinden were in last weekend...

As I said before there are not really any Brits worthy of a place in the GP's..................Tai is too young and too hot headed and Kennett will never be a 'World Class' rider.............there are youngsters coming through but are they being given a chance to compete with the big boys???????????? May be the fact there are not enough 'good' Brits at the moment is because the Elite League is overloaded with foreigners and not only that very few are given the chance to double up because of the number of foreign riders at reserve.........

How many teams have more than one Brit in their team all the time in the Elite League???????????? May be the time has come to put British Speedway back on the map.............let more Brits into the Elite League and then may be it will go back to the 70's and 80's when British Speedway was at least ten times better than it is now....................

Rant over

What is it with this site and people desperately trying to prove they are 'in the know' about things that they actually know sweet f.a about?

What are you people trying to achieve? You'll just look even bigger idiots than you already do when the riders are announced and you are completely wrong

There might be one person trying to tell us something they really do know, but there are so many others trying to make themselves look big and important that this one person will be grouped with them and ignored.

This forum is nothing compared with a few years back

I agree with you completly , no WC have actually been announced as yet have they ? And as for knocking our British riders could any of you go out there and do a better job.

I thought you said money talks. To me it means they'll have to pay for their place by bringing in sponsorship like most of the WC rally drivers do for their team and some of the F1 for their teams. Only in speedway IMG is the team. If Hagon Shocks puts in another 50k in Eddies pocket, I really dont see how that will benefit the "team"...
