Was this at Tabaka's request or did Newport drop him from the meeting?

Have heard from an unofficial source it was something to do with the 6 people he brought over with him who the promotion were meant to be accomodating... although they didn't discover it was 6 people (7 including Tabaka) until this week.

I hope the new programme isnt all going to be glossy finish, I hate writing the scores on glossy paper much better on the matt finish.

If I didnt know better I would call you 21st Century Heathen. :D:o

He hates gloss paper - he earns his speedway spending money from the printing world so whenever there is a testimonal / individual meeting or we go to any an away meeting we get a 'very interesting' lecture on the merits of gloss v Matt!!

Oh happy days!!!! :P:D

Regarding the programme cover, its fine but for one small issue. The lassoing is fine but then it's just been dumped on the page. The 2 layers needed to be merged for it to work well. A minor change would have made a huge difference and then it really would have looked excellent.

I think it looks good too.

But RocketBen seems to think otherwise. perhaps he has had such a large amount of expierience drawing smiley faces on paint he now classes himself as a graphical expert?

Rocketben is just offering an opinion pinny! No need to go all defensive.

With you as website man at Newport it is not surprising though to see you following the Mallett/Florence route of foot in mouth :wink:

Anyway have a good one on Sunday old mucker, watch out for those Newport dogs

I can't believe everyone is getting so excited about a programme cover. It's fine - not a brilliant design, but not bad either. I'm sure there are 100 and 1 more important issues to address to get the meeting on for Sunday!

Totally true Dirt Junkie. All credit to the band of volunteers and helpers who have being working overtime to get the track ready despite the wintry weather. :approve:

Steve rang early this morning to say that the temperature has gone up a tad and that hopefully we will not get a ground frost the next few nights. The gang are working hard again today and we look forward to welcoming you to Queensway Meadows on Sunday --gates open at 11am and first race will be promptly starting at 1pm.

I'm packed and ready and heading for Newport after lunch --with still a load of bits and pieces to complete before those turnstiles open including a trip to Heathrow with Nick to pick up the Swedes tomorrow.

See you all Sunday!!

All roads leading to Newport this sunday, cannot wait!!!!

Large crowd I am sure will be there, good parking, easy access, super facilities with excellent viewing with good racing to boot. What more could you ask for.

I gather the Track Shop is very good so I will make a visit.

Plus Najjer is there, cannot wait.

Good old Main Man Rogers, he loves picking up the kids.

He'll be taking them back to Krzysztof Stojanowski caravan which currently lies dormant in the car park of the Island Speedway, but have no fears Pav Pavitt has popped a nice little heater that Crouch # Name Removed # gave him for xmas in there (originally Crouch # Name Removed # was intending to give Pav Pavitt a laptop for xmas but thats another story), so those Swedish boys won't get too cold and just to make sure they are fully focussed before they depart for the meeting, Gemini will be round to give them a lovely oil massage.

Whilst Main Man Rogers will do his best to keep those young Swedes occupied, they also have a lovely new dart board that One Dart Pearson has managed to procure from the organisers of the PDC World Darts Championship at the old Ally Pally in London. Not only will that dart board be proudly on display in Krzysztof Stojanowski caravan alongisde it will be a personally signed photo of Co Stompe, which One Dart has kindly donated from his own personal collection of pictures.

Programme covers talk to me, there is no one better qualified than Pav Pavitt when it comes to programme covers, he has produced more programme covers than Pinstripe and SCB have used packets of tissues watching one of Shov Shovlar's DVDs they bought off ebay! He's a geezer with tasty line schmateh and the spiel to match.

Pinstripe I'll give £1200 to design me a cover for my next glossy brochure, come and talk to Terry Tibbs. The proud owner of Tibbs Motors Limited, you don't just jump into bed with Terry Tibbs, you take Terry Tibbs out to lunch, you wine and dine him, you give him an oil massage and then he gives you £1950 if you’re lucky, tickle my chin Pinstripe, £2250, your a hard man to do business with Pinstripe, ok 50p and packet of a Smarties that's my final offer!

That's why they call me Terry Tibbs

Thank you goodnight and much love

Sorry Wanna, rubbed you up the wrong way again? I have a strong knowledge of Photoshop, i'm not saying I could produce something miles better than the Newport offer however I could make something of the same standard if not better and there lies my point, somebody has been paid good money to produce something that I could do myself in 5 minutes.

You are supposedly an ambassador for Newport Speedway via the website and this forum and you carry yourself disgracefully, not just here but in pretty much every post you make, your parents shouldnt have given you that vtech laptop in your play pen. I'd take off the tinted glasses if I were you but then i'm glad thats not the case. ;)

I hope the fans of Newport enjoy the success you are bound to have next season, its just a shame the minority conduct themselves like idiots.

HAHAHAHAHA.

You are more of an embarrasement to your own fans than I am to Newport. Hence your nickname "sillyben".

Just out of thought, how do you know the programme is actually paid for? Maybe the printing company do it for nothing all year as sponsorship?

You have absoloutely no idea about what goes on with Newports programmes, website etc. No idea at all.

What is this arguement all about!!!

Why does Ben have to prove he is better at Photoshop as he has an opinion on it!

Most of us criticise riders on a daily basis but arent expected to prove we can do it better.

Discuss /suggest ways it may have been improved, but what is it with blokes that they have to prove themsleves bigger and better all the time.

Heading Newport way on Sunday and looking forward to this meeting. Not looking forward to the cold though! :(
