rocketstu
Well was my first Classic and was an enjoyable day Yes weather was cold, track was wet (told this was because the sun was drawing the forst out of the track and causing moisture). Dissapointing that the youngesters were out of their depth and caused the day to overrun by a good deal of time, but to see Werner, Doolan and the winner Boxall ride that track as good as they did in the conditions was a massive highlight. Shadders
Probably the most boring meeting I've been to in 25 years of watching speedway, and that's from a Rye House fan!! Don't think it was quite as cold as last year at Poole, although I couldn't feel my toes by the end ... To cap it all we went to Nando's in Watford on the way home .. No Fanta, No corn on the cob, no red pepper dip, no ketchup and they had strawberry frozen yoghurt when the sign said vanilla!! On top of that, you forgot to add that the first dish I got for the yoghurt was dirty Very boring, very tedious meeting today.. Irrespective of whether it's cold and would affect the track... the standard of what Poole put on was 10 times better!! Only two stand outs to me today were Boxall (yes, without the H... take note some people ) and Mellgren. I felt sad watching Roynon today though... thinking of where he was before his terrible accident to what he's got to try and get back to... I really hope he can get the confidence back and get back to the standard he was at

oldswindonsupporter
you didn't see Carl Wilkison or Ben Barker providing some very entertaing racing then. depends on what you call entertaining, all done and dusted after the 1st / 2nd bend bar one, persoally I don't call that entertaining! IMO heat 5 was the best race of the afternoon...close and challenging for the lead but that was it. track like a ploughed field, only one line round the 3rd / 4th bend - much like the sheffield meeting and that was c**p to start off with! winner superb out of the gate bar one when off the outside and couldn't get across, deserved to win. I really hope he can get the confidence back and get back to the standard he was at Unfortunately for poor Adam it is only really the winter meetings to get back in the swing of things. He will probably use the PT to shake off the track rust and prepare himself for the forthcoming PL season. It's amazing to see how far he has come in the time since that tragic accident. Should of used your £5 off voucher from the programme to go Frankie and Bennys just behind the McDonalds as you come out of the stadium. Bloody lovely in there, best bit of the afternoon that was. Very boring, very tedious meeting today.. Irrespective of whether it's cold and would affect the track... the standard of what Poole put on was 10 times better!! Have to agree.
