tomcat
Just read about Gettingarna closing down, sorry to hear that. Sorry if I missed a post about this on here, but how has Gettingarna closed down? Not another team gone from Sweden? As much as I have made my feelings known about Swedish and Polish teams that have over stretched themselves financially, I still hate to see any team close down. World speedway needs as many teams and tracks as possible.
davidba
Hi tomcat, It's not been postd on here, but is on many Swedish/Polish websites, here's one dodgy translation Swedish to English translationShow romanization UNDER THE SAFE SOURCE: Wasps put out of business. Chairman Lotta Johansson has been fired. Debt makes it impossible to continue. I think SVEMO are now considering an application from an Eskilstuna based team to take their place in Allsvenskan. Fxitures now messed up and many riders out of work!

Ghostwalker
Rospiggarna are now a total independent club. Rospiggarna have like Vargarna previously been a part of a larger "general" motorsport club with several types of motorsports in the same organisation. But now MK Orion have "sold" all their stocks in Rospiggarna Speedway AB (AB =~INC/LtD) to a new club named Rospiggarna Speedway. Both parts thought it was the best because of the difference between the speedway branch and the other forms of motorsport in MK Orion, especially the economic part. http://www.norrteljetidning.se/sport/artiklar/id/14748
Ghostwalker
Svemo have rejected Eskilstuna Speedway's plans on taking over Getingarna's place in Allsvenskan. Svemo says that they have to follow their paragraphs. This means that Allsvenskan will only have 5 teams next season and that Svemo might have to re-do the fixtures. Another problems is that Dackarna had a partner deal with Getingarna and several of Dackarna's riders were put in Getingarnas squad riders that now probably have to be transferred to Dackarna's squad and miss out on riding in allsvenskan. In 2003 or 2004 Hammarby (Bajen) speedway was allowed to take over team Bikab's place in Allsvenskan and Bajen were a new team that hadn't participated in the Swedish series system before. KetteringPanther
80CC YOUTH LEAGUE FIXTURES FOR 2010 Teams: Dackarna (Målilla), Elit Vetlanda (Vetlanda), Elit Vetlanda/Bysarna (Vetlanda/Visby), Indianerna (Kumla), Lejonen/Gnistorna (Gislaved/Malmö), Piraterna (Motala), Rospiggarna (Hallstavik), Valsarna/Solkatterna (Hagfors/Karlstad), Västervik/Dackarna (Västervik/Målilla) White Tigers (Eskilstuna), Örnarna/Smederna (Mariestad/Eskilstuna) (Track/town in bracket) As almost half of the teams are combined teams, it's not clear where those teams will ride their meetings. That will be specified later on. As an example, I'll guess that the tracks in Hagfors and Karlstad takes two meetings each for their combined team. Anders
Do you have any idea at this stage whether the May 15th 80cc meeting will be at Karlstad or Hagfors? Ghostwalker
Getingarna had been away from league speedway a few seasons when they returned last season. Then a month/month and a half ago there were suddenly news about that Getingarna had pulled out and that they had offer their place in Allsvenskan to Eskilstuna Tigers. However Svemo rejected this because their rules didn't allow that new teams started in Allsvenskan (despite that both Hammarby and Getingarna have been allowed to do just that). Anyway as a result of this Getingarna changed their mind and have decided to participate in allsvenskan.
davidba
Are Gettingarna still gonna ride out of Bajen?Thought i read something about them racing some/all meetings elsewhere?
Ghostwalker
Are Gettingarna still gonna ride out of Bajen?Thought i read something about them racing some/all meetings elsewhere? from what i understand, it depends on if they can use Gubbängen (which is the same track as Bajen uses). There is/was some concern regarding Gubbängen and if they would have an airfence there or not. Getingarna is forced (by Svemo) to use Gubbängen if they can and are only allowed to race elsewhere if they for some reason can't use Gubbängen. Ghostwalker
Gnistorna will have a female rider in their squad this season. Ghostwalker
It is clear now that Getingarna won't participate in this years allsvenskan. They have filed an application for bankruptcy at Södertörns Tingsrätt.. Getingarna which is/was one of the old classic teams in Sweden was revived as a competitive team to last season after a few years away from league racing but have failed to regain any interest spectator wise. Only 292 people in average attended their meetings last season. From what i have heard they have mostly relied on incomes from iceracing events to fund their speedwayteam, i don't know if its true though. In general its very hard for speedway in Stockholm to attract spectators. This means that allsvenskan only will have five teams since new teams, like Eskilstuna Tigers, not are allowed to start in allsvenskan. Several riders will now stand without a team in Sweden this season some of Getingarnas riders belongs to Dackarna so i guess that they will be transferred to Dackarna's squad in the pre-season transfer window.
