Looking forward to seeing how the 2009 Fen Tigers match up to the 2008 version. 24 races plus the 'Blast from the past' guys, and all for a tenner, top value Edited October 7, 2009 by PhilK

norwichkev
Totally agree mate.Should be a cracking little meeting..If the last few weeks are anything to go by,we are in for an absolute treat.Roll on Sunday Well done Blayne decent replacements in a few potential winners in this one. Looks a great afternoon all round - by my maths 24 races + the Men in Black for normal admission prices? Great way to end the season. Dub
Unfortunately Joe Jacobs has had to pull out of Sunday's meeting due to his wrist injury and is replaced by Scunthorpe's British U18 Runner Up Kyle Howarth. Our thanks go to Malcolm Vasey for his assistance in sorting this for us. Cheers Steve
Dub
James Sarjeant takes Kyles place as he is not going to be fit after crashing at Sheffield Thursday night. Cheers Steve
PhilK
Although there have been a number of enforced changes, Blayne has still put together an excellent and competitive field! The weather looks set fair for tomorrow, so hopefully his efforts will be rewarded by a big crowd and a good meeting

2ndbendpostie
Superb value for money, 28 races for a tenner, good standard of riders in the main meeting, supported by the future and the past. Simon Lambert, Darren Mallett & Taylor Poole all worthy of the top 3 places with James Cockle and Barrie Evans equal fourth. A good sized crowd saw Poole break the National league track record at West Row in the first heat of the day, so a good finish to a season, and I am sure everyone went home happy and ready to return next April. I thought the track held up very well considering it saw almost double the amount of laps than normal, thanks to the trackmen and rakers for that. Well done to Ray Mascall for keeping speedway at Mildenhall this season and thanks to Blayne Scroggins for putting together todays line up. PhilK
2. Barrie Evans out in the wrong helmet colour in Ht 19... Either white/black or yellow/black (hard to see which) when he was meant to be in red. I thought this would be an instant exclusion? But he won the race... Had he been in the right colour fair play, it would have been a good win - but with the wrong helmet colour, he should have been excluded and the 3 points awarded to the rider in second - Darren Mallet. Gripe? It was just a little bit of end of season fun Rhidassa, Barrie needing double points to have a chance of winning!! Hardly a shooting offence or an exclusion worthy one hey It was as 2ndbendpostie said excellent value for money, and the track did hold up very well Taylor managing a very fast 51.42 in the 27th race of the afternoon. Credit must go to Joe Evans who has done a fantastic job on the track, times recently have been 3 -4 seconds faster a race than they were earlier in the season and the blue line and dust seem a thing of the past thankfully. Unfortunately Taylor was exluded in his 2nd ride (correctly though) as he looked the likely winner from the moment he broke the track record in heat 1. However congratulations to Simon Lambert and Darren Mallett a worthy 1-2! There was plenty of good close racing to enjoy, and a marvelous move by Poole in Heat 20 to enjoy. Horrible crash in heat 3 put paid to Scott Campos and Jari Makinen's afternoons hopefully both are ok? It certainly took a lot of effort to get this meeting on, and Blayne deserves a great deal of credit, especially in the last week as riders dropped out and others had to be found The last few weeks have seen a real turn around of our fortunes and a change of atmosphere at the track. Everyting seems positive for 2010 so role on next March! Finally thanks to Ray and Jean for giving us a club to support this season Edited October 12, 2009 by PhilK

Terry Day - 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 = 8 2. Olly Rayson - 0, 2, 1, 2, 2 = 7 3. Barrie Evans - 1, 2, 3, 2, 3 = 11 4. Taylor Poole - 3, F, 3, 3, 3 = 12 5. Simon Lambert - 3, 3, 2, 3, 2 = 13 6. Nick Laurence - 0, 0, 1, 0, 0 = 1 7. Lee Strudwick - 1, 1, EF, 0, EF = 2 8. James Sarjeant - 2, 1, 1, 1, 1 = 6 9. Luke Priest - 3, 0, 0, 2, 3 = 8 10. Jari Makinen - = INJURED 11. Scott Campos - X, = INJURED 12. Darren Mallett - 2, 3, 3, 3, 2 = 13 13. Matt Wright - 0, 2, 2, 3, 1 = 8 14. James Cockle - 3, 3, 2, 2, 1 = 11 15. Dan Halsey - 2, 3, 0, 1, 3 = 9 16. Arlo Bugeja - 1, 2, 3, 1, 1 = 8 I think the scorecard underlines the even nature of the field, and the luck of the draw took the meeting to a Heat 20 decider before the run-off. A very enjoyable afternoon and credit to all at Mildenhall. Edited October 12, 2009 by NeilWatson

Parsloes 1928 nearly
Gripe? It was just a little bit of end of season fun Rhidassa, Barrie needing double points to have a chance of winning!! Hardly a shooting offence or an exclusion worthy one hey Helmet colours all cocked up...? Complete choas resulting from no-one in the crowd or in the pits knowing what colour head-gear any rider is due to wear..? If you want to have seen this in a truly comic masterpiece, it was the NL Pairs a couple of months or so back at the IoW you needed to be at..!!! colincooke
Enjoyed this meeting though the delay for Heat 4 was a bit of a pain in the ass. Taylor Poole really is something else & sure to become a huge star very quickly, just one thought, get an haircut lad. Taylor would've picked up yet another trophy had it not been for losing control a bit in his 2nd outing, well done to Simon though, who was the best of the rest. Barrie Evans did amuse me with his B/W helmet, nice try. Really nice too see some of the old bikes too. Well done to all.
gibralta
Whatever happened to being able to have a 'bit of fun' in life without critism for it - but there the old saying is 'you can please some of the people some of the time - but never all of the people all of the time'. Seems it's true for sure. However, no one can justifiably say they did not receive ' value for money speedway ' yesterday - or indeed throughout the past season. Where do you find better??????
