So he was under the impression it was a 9 rider field, or as LS said that we have a 16 club league?!! Sorry, but that's just another poor excuse from one of the top riders.

I agree with this -

the problem is this is known to be a bit of a Mickey Mouse event for years - and is so disrespected by riders thinking their "too good" for it.

Yet again the ball falls in the BSPAs court who should take action and make this a more prestige event....and punish those who do disrespect it.

just because they have given these events a logo and a name - yet nothing else - they still lack the promotion and excitement to entice more fans....

And I also have to admit - the admission prices again have to be questioned - £20 to me is way too high....Just because people will go to this event from all different clubs does not admit value for money, good entertainment and racing or good atmosphere.

I am going to this - but almost half of my job seekers allowance is going on being able to see my first (and probably) last speedway match of the season...

had it been cheaper I would have been able to get to a few more matches this year :(

In Bjerres case he is a heat leader and likely to be called upon for a place. What if Pboros Number 1 had been injured - and what if he had become Number 1 ???

In defence of some riders I must admit even people like Crumpy dont miss this event unless they really have to (like this season) - but that all comes down to respect. And some riders just dont have it.

There you go people, we should be aiming this event at people on job seekers allowance, thats the future of speedway! Or maybe it should set a reasonable price for what should be the second biggest (3rd this year) meeting of the season on a UK track.

Also, shouldnt job seekers allowance be used to help you find a job?

To be fair if he was offered another booking BEFORE his invite to the ELRC then why should he ride?

Because the ELRC is not an invitational meeting - you qualify for it and it's been fairly obvious for the last few months who the 16 qualifiers are likely to be.

Bjerre should have the rulebook thrown at him. If a rider wants to ride in the EL, then they also ride in the ELRC. If they don't ride, then they should stopped from riding in British Speedway during 2010.

All the best

Rob

Because this is an official fixture and he should keep the date clear in his diary. Unless he had no intention of riding well enough to get an invite and despite not being a number one he's surprised not to have been poor enough to miss it!!

Dont think this is the place to tell me what I should and should not do - it has been a very tough year for me and many others due to a recession,

unfortunately admission prices have not reflected this - and with everything to be seemingly going up in price its going to get tougher.

I have been unable to get to a meeting the whole season due to my situation - and finally I am able to just about manage it...I paid my taxes and into the system for years - so do not give me the high and mighty!

Yeah, big shock!!! Wonder who else will just fail to turn up?

There's still no headline story about the meeting on the BSPA website. It's tucked away in the Super 7even Series bit and someone has been updating it. The only change missing is this latest one with Richardson pulling out. Seems to me that our beloved leaders are trying to slip all the changes in under the radar by not highlighing the changes with a headline story on the meeting. How dumb do they think we are?!!

well im looking forward to this, hans holder harris adams top 4

No way Zagar won't be there if he's even half interested in it.

Lakeside website has been updated to say Richardson has withdrawn.

Really like the bloke as a speedway rider but sick of this. Utterly pathetic.

Mads for Bjerre doesnt bother me, and Shields, if that is the replacement for Richardson, could actually do something based on his Brandon performance earlier in the year.

Wright is still the only duff name in a fairly open field.
