Do not even set the video now ,just go and watch Clewsy at Berwick he pass more riders in 4 Heats than happens in a whole GP

I dont think there was anything sinister about Sky putting saturdays GP on the red button, remember it started on normal Sky for the 1st hour before changing.I think it has more to do with the amount of other sports Sky covered live that day,Spanish football and the like. shazzybird
It's certainly a pain in the arse if you pay out for SKY+ and want to record it and then they do the press the red button thing!!!!!!
purcatt
It's certainly a pain in the arse if you pay out for SKY+ and want to record it and then they do the press the red button thing!!!!!! It most certainly is, I did put it on record as we went out and of course I got the first hour, so had to watch it the next day.
NJC71
Can't speak for Sky , but i'm certainly bored with it . Agree. I used to love the GP's but they are just so predictable and the racing is dross. The format dosesn't help, the GP's have gone down hill since they dispensed with the eliminators. emerald tyke
Hope Sky not going to 'pull the plug' on Speedway....my only chance of seeing any.! I do attend the Gp in Cardiff every year so far and a few meetings at Sheffield and Newport when I can, so because I am speedway starved as regards LIVE meetings I'm grateful to Sky for what they do for the sport....pity the sport or rather the organisers of the sport cannot seem to provide a fair racing track for racers who wanna race!!.. Not GATE and be in front all the four laps. BORING! and not good for the sport. They are actually cutting their noses off to spite their faces!! NO dirt, no passing, no passing, boring racing, boring racing== NO SUPPORTERS!! End of.

ianmartin
The question starting this Thread was: Has Sky Had Enough Of The Gp I don't know about SKY - but I have. It is VERY boring and so predictable. I agree too with the 'Saint' who stated: "Total dross = Ole Olsen's idea of speedway". Slick Tracks, No Dirt, No overtaking and most Races won from the Gate - Says it all really.
BUDGIE
.....so I asked them about the red button thing, this is what came back: Hi Keith Thanks for your email about Speedway. I was sorry to read of your unhappiness with the broadcasting of this sport. Due to other scheduling committments, and the sheer volume of sport we are showing, we have to utilise all of the Sky Sports channels. We also have to make use of the red button facility to show certain fixtures. I have taken note of the points raised in your email and passed these on to Sky Sports. Kind regards Angela Hart Viewer Relations If I could be bothered we would have a follow up that says Thanks, but what are they going to do about it! Guess I should just shut up and watch Andy 'yawn yawn' Murray or even worse, the Germans kicking around!, and be greatful for all this sport they are showing! At least they answered! That's a cop-out by Sky. They've always had plenty of sport to show on a Saturday night. It's obvious that speedway's just not important enough in their priorities now. emerald tyke
They don't want dirt on the tracks as it covers the sponsors to easily when it sticks to riders/fence etc If they don't start providing a RACING track we won't have a sport to either sponsor or televise!!.....maybe all riders could start tightening sprocket, clutch etc before the race to get their sponsors name seen before the race ( as 'Grin' and Gollob seems to have perfected!!), as surely their leathers/kevs are wiped off between races!! and can't the track staff tear off a banner trackside each time they become unreadable. Doesn't seem to be too much to ask and all so WE as supporters of this great sport could have some RACING to actually watch!!
GregM
Yip, have to agree, GP's are gash at the moment. Gate and go nonsense, that no matter how much the sky crew sugar coat it, we can all clearly see the racing is poor. I used to love coming in from work on a Sat and watching the gp, now it doesnt bother me if I miss it. Do you think people at sky/fim read these forums in order to see what the fans think? rabbit
I don't expect the people at Sky need to - their viewing figures probably tell them exactly what they need to know. And I can't see the numbers being that great in the series this year.
spook
maybe this is a tactic to get Virgin customers to switch to SKY? Virgin are about to steal an enormous march on their competitors as the broadband speeds they provide as standard become alarmingly faster than anything that anyone else can provide.......Under these terms I would fully expect a dirty fight to be waged where things like speedway would be caught in the crossfire either that or like some of you are saying Ole is killing world class speedway and this is just one of many side effects...................... as it is, even when he does move on, the years of slick tracks will have made the GP field gating tart heavy and we probably wont be able to get back to a smattering of Lorams and Bombers in the field for some years
