beercellar
while me and me other half were over in sweden in august , we checked out the malilla gp ( bit wet) and then went down to malmo for the malmofestivalen (superb) also we got told of a track in malmo MKT gnistorna, which after asking around we found, what a superb track, and the racing wow,it was like premier league racing, and antonio lindback holds the track record from 2003, aparently they used to hold major avents at the track years ago, and the likes of ole olsen and bruce penhall have riden there, so if you are out in sweden down malmo way or in copenhagen and want to pop over for some speedway, i recomend you check this track out, it was only 60 kroner for the meeting.but they dont have many meetings a year, so id check up online first. www.gnistona.se Edited September 13, 2009 by beercellar
iris123
Yes,i agree.Great little track. Not much in the way of facilities though. But i was there back in 2005 or so for the Sweden U21 v Denmark U21 meeting with riders like Klindt,Madsen,Hougaard,Forsberg,Kling.....Not much in the way of a crowd either.I think there couldn't have been more than a 100 people for this meeting!.Always meant to get back there.....But it isn't the track that held the World Final back in the 60s.Where was that? Ghostwalker
great to hear beerceller. Gnistorna will probably win Div1 this season and their three best riders are Ricky Kling, Anton Göthberg and Christian Agö. i also would like to point out the the name of the club is mk tändstiftet (tändstift=sparkplug) and that Gnistorna is the nickname of the club.
