emilali
Its a shame that some riders are not going to be there,Howe,Rymel and every possibility the Edinburgh riders wont be there but Im sure there will be riders only to willing to come into the line up. Ben Wilson was announced as part of the meeting next week at tonights Berwick v Redcar match, the other place is going to an as yet unamed rider from Denmark. would like the unnamed dane to be peter kildemand, doubt theres much chance of that though if dave peet has spotted him, daves idea of a good forward thinking signing is rusty harrison

Ellesmere Gunner
No Chris Harris if eddinburgh beat kings lynn tuesday rideing for bellevue Please get your facts correct or do not print stories like this! I know for a fact that having spoken with John Anderson earlier today (as I wanted to know line up before I travel and who better to get it from) that he spoke again this morning to Norrie Allan (Chris Harris Manager) who again confirmed that only unavoidable illness/injury would prevent Chris from taking up his commitment to Berwick Speedway on 24th October. Either withdraw or retract your post or confirm your source please!

No need, some people just like making mischief. It was said last night that any changes to the field would be put on the offical site.Obviously if Edinburgh make the play-off final then their riders wont be at Berwick but lets see what happens in the next day or two. Charley
my bad on loram, not sure what made me think that. who did they have when it was one big league? anyone know if he's likely to take up any individual bookings - i'd guess no given that he hasn't already, another year gone, looking more likely we ain't gonna see him on a track again - got the feeling he wanted to do it and in some ways would love to see it, but deep down its probably for the best (floppy norris' return and other things taken into account)
screm
According to the Wolverhampton site Tai Woffinden has returned from a trip to Poland with suspected Swine Flu,he has been put into isolation with no contact of teamates or family. glycerol
The latest from www.berwickspeedway.co.uk Looking good...... BERWICK’S BIGGEST SPEEDWAY EVENT OF THE YEAR GETS BIGGER AND BETTER! If a week is a long time in politics, a day can be even longer in the lives of Berwick’s livewire speedway promoters John Anderson and Lynda Waite! From yesterday, when they were in the happy position of naming a 16-rider line-up for Saturday’s Bordernapolis, sponsored by Hugh Hayes, which will bring down the curtain on this thrilling first year of operations under the Anderson/Waite banner, the club have been forced into changing no less than four of the nominated starters! “Firstly, we learned of Scunthorpe’s David Howe cracking his ankle in a nasty crash at the weekend” explained a club spokesperson. “As soon as we had this distressing information, we moved to bring in the young man who last weekend thrilled us all so much here – 24-year-old Yorkshireman Lee Complin”. “Lee raced in our colours when we pipped Redcar by two points on Saturday – when we heard the bad news about David he was the natural, obvious choice. Not just for his thrilling riding style – we all want to see a few more of his superb after-race victory wheelies, too!” In addition to Complin, the Berwick bosses have set their sights high by going up to Elite League level to recruit another highly-thought-of young Brit to enhance their Bordernapolis line-up. “We have engaged 21-year-old Cornish kid Ben Barker to fill the boots of Edinburgh’s Ryan Fisher, who will now be involved in his club’s promotion play-off against Belle Vue on Saturday.” said Anderson. “Wee Ben turned out in our colours earlier this year, and was an absolute stand-out around the Shielfield Park circuit. He was right in line for a chance of grabbing this season’s World Under-21 Championship too, when he suffered a broken leg in a qualifying round in Germany – he’s that good!” “But he’s back in business, back on track and -- on Saturday night – he’ll be back in Berwick!” The Bordernapolis – an event which Lynda Waite is quick to remind everyone would not have been possible for Berwick to stage without the support and event sponsorship by Hugh Hayes – will see sixteen riders from no less than eight nations contesting twenty heats of racing under the unique handicap formula first introduced at Berwick in 1972. The club has revised their line-up, now confirming the agreed and contracted attendance of Derek Sneddon (Scotland), Michal Makovsky (CZ), Stan Burza & Jac Rempala (Poland), Paul Clews, Ben Wilson, Chris Schramm, Lee Complin, Ben Barker & Tai Woffinden (England), Chris Kerr (USA), and Sweden’s brilliant Under-21 Champion Thomas H Jonasson. “Plus of course Great Britain’s skipper, two-time British Champion and Grand Prix winner Chris ‘Bomber’ Harris” confirmed a Bandits’ spokesperson. “Remember also that there will be an as-yet-unnamed Scandinavian rider coming over for this big night. While we hope he will be in contention for the title, we will use the opportunity to take a good look at him with a view to our future plans. We do not want to release his name just yet, in case some other UK clubs get a whiff of his availability – but we’ll all find out who he is at seven o’clock on Saturday night!” “When setting up a big event such as this one, we are always aware other clubs may be forced by seasonal constraints to rearrange fixtures and withdraw contracted riders from our field” “The play-off tie last night was a case in point – Edinburgh will now race the next leg against Belle Vue on Saturday, so we will require to engage two further riders to complete our roster. Watch this space!” “I will say this again and again – any rider who is pulled out by his club will be replaced by the best alternative we can find – and we will make sure, by our daily website updates and immediate media releases, that people know what’s happening”. As announced, there will be no increase to regular admission prices on Bordernapolis evening. Indeed, the match programme – although increased in size by four extra pages – will remain at only £2. “A wee thank-you to our marvellous supporters” say club bosses Anderson and Lynda Waite. “Without them, we couldn’t have done anything this year!” A tribute to this season’s marvellous back-from-the-dead speedway revival at Berwick will be paid by BBC1 TV at 7.30pm on Monday, October 26th. During the ‘Inside Out’ programme (broadcast to the North East and Cumbria) presenter Diana Binks will host a nine-minute segment, telling the story of Lynda Waite and John Anderson’s first amazing season in charge of their Bandits – featuring action from matches against Newcastle, Workington and King’s Lynn. It will also be available on the BBC iPlayer for the following seven days – countrywide. There will also be a Berwick Speedway feature on BBC Newcastle - Radio for the North East - (95.4 and 96.0FM) during the Monday 26th Breakfast show hosted by Charlie Charlton and Alfie Joey.... 6.30am to 10am.
