British Under 18 Final

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to Jerran on an excellent ride in the final. Commiserations to Joe Haines. He was excellent all night apart from the race that mattered the most.

There was a couple of decent races and Kyle Howarth was very good considering he's only 15. I was impressed with the young talent that we have and lets hope that some of them go on to have good careers in speedway.

Well I must have my own two pennorth here the entire Scunthorpe Saints team is filled with prospective superstars.

The evidence is clear, look at the results of the Under 15's and the Under 18's and you will see just what I mean.

Under 15 Champion Ashley Morris superb rider superb young man.

Under 15 Runner-Up Kyle Howarth, becomes Under 18 Runner-Up and he is not 16 until February! First rode a speedway bike August 2009

But there are others to who on their day are just as good in fact the whole of my team. Did you see Richard Franklin riding courageously last night seven weeks out with an injury, one practice and still getting over a horrible operation but won his first ride.

James Sargeant and Adam Wrathall on their day just the same. Excellent young men and great potential for the future.

Others awaiting an opportunity believe me and a great potential star in Gary Irving just too old for these events career delayed due to an RTA etc. John MacPhail of whom I amn expecting big things next season and Scott Richardson a disatrous season since he cut part of his finger off but gone on loan to Buxton to try and get a decent quota of matches in.

Scott has great talent and desrves a stroke of luck in his life.

All potential stars all 21 or under and most 15 or 16.

Watch them go next season. And the phone rings very often with more young riders to assess who want to ride for Scunthorpe Saints.

Great evening last night and a fine win by Jerran and please don't belittle his achivement with all of this squit and petty jealousy about 20 heats. That is not how we do it now and Jerran won by the rules in use on the night and deservedly so. That final race was awesome.

Those who were not there have no idea. Even the GP's are done that way now.

Scunthorpe the place where stars are now in production.

Malcolm,

You are getting too excited - not good for a man of your age!! I think that you meant to say that Kyle first rode a speedway bike in August 2008 not August 2009.

Martin you are so right but Kyle's achievement is never the less outstanding and that is the point I was making.

Still waiting for Laurence to tell us whats going on everywhere else.

It wasn't an uneccessary final. To win the meeting, the champion had to win the final. Is that difficult to understand?

Don't be a smart ar*se

I shouldnt worry about it Marcus.

On various other threads, both Squall and Shadders have made it very clear they are anti Jerran.

You have to remember that Shadders supports Rye House....and where does Haines ride?...oh yes,Rye House!

To be honest,Im far more impressed that Kyle Newman secured a rostrum place.Hes only ever been there 4 or 5 times in his career.Jerran and Kyle Howarth ride the track every week, while Haines rode for Scunny in their superb Conference League team a few seasons back.

Another smart ar*e ..... I'm not anti anyone ..... well, not until I read this silly post

Shadders you really are a Rye house brain washed fool,Joe was great last night as he always is round the EWR,but he didnt win the meeting as it was so obvious what he was going to do,gate four, roar round the outside and win,Hart gated, parked Joe up and game over, last night the fastest guy on the track won,J.Hart
Yet another smart ar*e!!!

After missing the meeting due to work, the "sour grape writers" are basicly saying the Speedway GP format is wrong ,also, and that they should only ride the 20 heats at every meeting. As others have said, the riders knew the rules before the first heat and this format has been used for a while now.
