JulieR
Dan will be holding his Farewell Meeting on Thursday 22nd October at Redcar Speedway with a 7.30pm start. Sadly he is retiring on medical advice, but will continue working with Ty Proctor. The meeting will see the visit of the mighty Wolverhampton Wolves (hopefully as league champions), featuring PK, Fredrik Lindgren, Tai & Adam Skornicki etc. Obviously there will also be a few special guests in the Redcar team as well. Watch this space for further press releases.

JulieR
Plans are coming together for Dan's meeting, plus there is a chance to bid on Ebay to assist the referee at the meeting. This will give the winner bidder a unique oportunity to find out what really goes on in the box. Plus you will get to meet all the riders & attend the pre-match briefing. Also there a few tyre & fuel sposorships available for £50, your name would be in the programme next to the rider of your choice. Watch this space for further info. RedcarRacer
Expect to see a few Eagles riders in the line up like Cam Woodward. Ed Kennett confirmed as a Bear for the evening. Mark Loram as guest of honour, should be a cracking night. We were going to announce another EL rider but we might not need one due to our new Slovenian sensation! JulieR
Just an update on the tyre & fuel sponsorship, Barry Simpson has come forward & given us a fantastic offer. He will be providing fuel for all the riders, and we thank him very much for this. We have therefore amended the £50 sponsorship package to cover Tyre & Oil. On another note, I am not good on the computer, so wonder if anyone can help me out a post a link for the referee auction on Ebay.

RedcarRacer
Hmmm, great line-up but disappointed Gregoric is not riding - hardly a Bears team is it? Why do we want Ben Barker in our side when Ben Wilson or Gregoric could do just as good a job - some strange decisions IMO

Al Stewart
Who replaces Ward, Lindgren, Woffinden etc? PRESS RELEASE British Speedway Champion Chris Harris heads the group of riders who have agreed to join the lineup for Giffardsson’s Farewell, the Benefit meeting for injured rider Dan Giffard at Redcar this Thursday 22nd. There have been some unavoidable call-offs but the popular Harris was quick to agree to ride when he heard of the problems. He replaces Freddie Lindgren in the Wolves Select as Freddie has to fly to Poland for their rearranged League Playoff match. Darcy Ward is in this same Playoff fixture and his place in the Redcar Select side goes to home star Ben Wilson, who was always coming to the meeting but originally said he wanted to enjoy the action from the sidelines. He too speedily agreed to jump the fence and take part. William Lawson rides for Wolves to replace swine ‘flu victim Tai Woffinden, and Wolves will use rider replacement for Peter Karlsson who has broken his thumb. Both Woffinden and Karlsson were also forced out of the Olympique individual event at Wolverhampton on Monday. American Kenny Ingalls will ride as no. 8. Dan Giffard said “I am so grateful to the replacement riders for helping me out and retaining the high quality of the field – I was starting to get worried. “I also want to thank the riders who have had to drop out because I know they would have been there if they could be.” GIFFARDSON’S FAREWELL, REDCAR, THURSDAY 22nd OCTOBER, REDCAR SELECT v WOLVERHAMPTON.
