Comments: Schlein made the gate and lead the whole way. Ashworth was close to hitting Schlein on turn 3 lap1. Schlein pulled away for an easy win. Ashworth went wide on bend 2 lap 4 & fisher got through. Wethers just failed to get Ashworth on the line.

Heat 03: Parker, Rajkowski, Wells, Grajczonek 58.7

Line Up: Mikael Rajkowski, Shane Parker, Josh Grajczonek, Ricky Wells

Comments: Shane didn't make the start but took a tight line to lead out of bend 2. He then won by about a quarter of a lap. Wells was close to Rajkowski but couldn't pass Josh made a mess of turns 1&2 on lap 1 by going too wide and never caught the others up.

Heat 04: Makovsky, Howe, Clews, Aarnio 59.3

Line Up: Michal Makovsky, Paul Clews, David Howe, Tero Aarnio

Comments: Fisher destroys the tapes & comes round and does some wheelies to the 'applause' of the crowd. Fisher excluded & is replaced by Mitchell.

Re Run - Wright gated & led all the way. Josh was 2nd but went too wide on turn 4 lap 1 & Howe passed him. All riders well strung out at the end. A few spots of rain falling now.

Heat 06: Wethers, Clews, Grieves, Rajkowski 60.4

Line Up: Paul Clews, Mikael Rajkowski, James Grieves, Matthew Wethers

Heat 07: Parker, Schlein, Sitera, Makovsky 59.8

Line Up: Shane Parker, Michal Makovsky, Rory Schlein, Filip Sitera

Heat 08: Ashworth, Lawson, Wells, Aarnio 60.9

Line Up: William Lawson, Ricky Ashworth, Ricky Wells, Tero Aarnio

Comments: William made the gate but Ashworths momentum out of bend 2 got him through. Wells passed Aarnio for 3rd exiting bend 4 on lap1. After that it was follow the leader.

Heat 09: Wright, Parker, Wethers, Aarnio 58.9

Line Up: Matthew Wethers, Tero Aarnio, James Wright, Shane Parker

Comments:Wright from the gate. Shane was right with him all race but Wright was riding wide & there was no room for Shane. Wethers was well back but not troubled by Aarnio.

Heat 10: Fisher, Wells, Makovsky, Grieves 60.5

Line Up: Ricky Wells, Ryan Fisher, Michal Makovsky, James Grieves

Comments:Fisher & Grieves from the gate, Fisher took him wide & Grieves has to shut off and dropped to the back. No change after that & Grieves was tailed off at the end.

Heat 11: Ashworth, Clews, Sitera, Grajczonek

Line Up: Ricky Ashworth, Josh Grajczonek, Filip Sitera , Paul Clews

Comments: From the gate. Ashworth winning comfortably & Josh tailed off at the back. Race was decided by bend 2. Josh got blocked out at the start & didn't make any impression after that.

Heat 12 - Re Run: Schlein, Lawson, Rajkowski, Davey 60.3

Line Up: David Howe Mitchell Davey, William Lawson, Mikael Rajkowski, Rory Schlein

Comments:Unsatisfactory start, looked like William got a flyer. No warning from the ref though

Re run: Howe is excluded for breaking the tapes. To be replaced by Mitchell in the re run.

Re Run 2: FTG and pretty strung out again.

Heat 13: Wright, Schlein, Clews, Wells 58.7

Line Up: Rory Schlein, Ricky Wells, Paul Clews, James Wright

Comments:Again FTG. Wright looking good. Well spread out again.

Heat 14: Grieves, Ashworth, Parker, Howe 60.4

Line Up: James Grieves, David Howe, Ricky Ashworth, Shane Parker

Comments:Grievesy made the gate and lead all the way. All 4 riders really close. Shane passed Ashworth out of bend 4 lap 4 but had to get out of the throttle to avoid Grieves & Ashworth nipped back through.

Heat 15: Fisher, Rajkowski, Sitera, Aarnio 60.6

Line Up: Tero Aarnio, Filip Sitera , Mikael Rajkowski, Ryan Fisher

Comments:It was tight between Raj & Sitera but Raj just held on. Fisher untroubled out front.

Heat 16: Lawson, Wethers, Makovsky, Grajczonek 60.5

Line Up: Josh Grajczonek, Matthew Wethers, William Lawson, Michal Makovsky

Comments: Great first couple of turns by Lawson to come from 3rd to 1st. No further passing, though Josh did get close to makovsky before falling back.

Heat 17: Wright, Ashworth, Rajkowski, Makovsky 59.3

Line Up: James Wright, Ricky Ashworth, Michal Makovsky, Mikael Rajkowski

Comments:Wright made the gate and was gone. Ashworth was comfortable in 2nd. Good tussle at the back won by Rajkowski.

Heat 18: Schlein, Grieves, Aarnio, Grajczonek 59.5

Line Up: Josh Grajczonek, James Grieves, Rory Schlein, Tero Aarnio

Comments: Rory made the gate & clamped Grievesy. Aarnio went round Josh on the first two turns. After that Rory won easily, Grievesy looking pretty slow & Aarnio got close to him at times.

Heat 19: Wethers, Wells, Sitera, Howe 61.0

Line Up: Filip Sitera , Ricky Wells, David Howe, Matthew Wethers

Comments:Pretty even break from the tapes, Wethers swept round the outside to take the lead. After that he was untroubled. Nobody close to making a pass after the first couple of bends.

Heat 20 - Re Run: Parker, Fisher, Lawson 59.9

Line Up: Ryan Fisher, Paul Clews, Shane Parker, William Lawson

Comments: Race stopped. Clews Excluded. Exiting turn 4 he clatterd into the side of William. Both riders went down & William into the fence. Both riders up and walked back to the pits unaider. Delay is likely while the fence is repaired.

Re Run - Race re run with 3 riders. FTG again. William had a hairy moment when he lifted exiting turn 2 but stayed on. Riders well sprea

Semi Final: Fisher, Ashworth, Lawson, Parker (Retired) 59.6

Line Up: William Lawson, Ricky Ashworth, Shane Parker, Ryan Fisher

Comments:FTG. Fisher won comfortably. Lawson close to Ashworth. Shane pulled into the pits on lap 4 when well at the back.

Final: Fisher, Ashworth, Schlein, Wright 59.9

Line Up: James Wright, Rory Schlein, Ricky Ashworth, Ryan Fisher

Comments:Fisher led, at the end of lap 1 Wright passed him. Exiting bend 2 on lap 2 Fisher lifted & went across Wright causing Wright to shut off. Fisher then went on to win. Wright clearly not pleased with the ref. The crowd not happy either. Common opinion is that Fisher should have been excluded.

To say Glasgow Guy said Ashworth wouldn't win it he had a good go.

Never suggsted my predictions were any good!

Must say that was the best I have ever seen Ricky ride today, he was very quick, aggressive (controlled) and sharp, he looked like a serious challenger from his first ride .. as I say, I've never previously seen him ride better. Shook his hand afterwards and congratulated him on his efforts.

Also shook Mr Fisher by the hand and congratulated him (don't telll any fellow Glasgow fans or I'll be banned!) .. he did lift dangerously in the final and thwarted Wright's run around the outside, but it can happen in speedway. He wasn't a stand out throughout, but credit where credit's due, he peaked at the right time and won.

As Paulco has indicated, these non-team events are different from the standard bread & butter, and that's their attraction for me .. emotionally it was like having a week off!

And that's exactly what i had . Back next week for the visit of Birmingham . Team speedway i love dearly , these individual things just don't do it for me . Glad i gave it a miss when i saw who won

Good on you, GG - Ryan will have appreciated that and also the prize money ;)

Amusing isn't the word I would use, more like appalling  with the mods working overtime.

Well done Fish :approve:

Never read it , every time i go to log on - computer says no . Something to do with cookies , but i've never fed my computer biscuits in my life

Anyway , was the Fishwife being abused ?
