Conkers
There's a turn up - Pavel Tschajka at reserve. Predictions for this meeting? Danil Ivanov to be a spoiler if he can beat Krasnikov @DutchGrassTrack: so Sven Holstein won't be competing in the European Junior Championship then. Also I expect Stellingwerf to shine this winter, as he had a good season last year.

f-s-p
As I mentioned before about Tommy Flyktman's off season, there now seems to be a minor twist in the proceedings. It appears that his "offseason" has now turned in to a switch of national license and he will continue his career as a Swede.
holbeachfans
Ron, I don't know about Ice Speedway (is that what happens at Telford?), but Ice Racing at Assen is great. I would recommend it to you - you won't be disappointed. PS Why do you post in that aggressive purple colour? All the best Rob Totally agree Lucifer Sam. Having suffered Telford and been less than impressed we are going to Assen in March for the 4th time and will be going again and again. The racing is to be seen to be believed. Makes some of the shale speedway riders look like absolute whimps. To see a rider come to the tapes with a false leg and race as hard as the others was unbelievable. These riders really do have their brains removed before they race. Ron - you should try it you would not be dissappointed!!!
iris123
I read that the Swiss are a bit upset with their World Champ allocation.Apparently they have 11 riders and asked for 6 places. They only got 2 places.Whereas the Norwegians asked for 2 and got 2(Roy Otto being FIM President had something to do with this?) and the Czechs who the piece said apart from the Klatovsky bros hardly have a bike between them have their allocation raised to 5 riders having asked for 5 places!!! Seems from the Swiss spokesman that this decision could see a few of their riders end their career And agree wholeheartedly with those above.Ice Racing really has to be experienced live to fully appreciate the thrills and skills. It is something else. And the atmosphere from the crowd is super Edited December 4, 2009 by iris123

Conkers
Looks like Krasnikov has started as he left off with an unbeaten performance. Good result for Kononov too, I'd like to see him in Assen and Berlin this season. Glad you did the results Doug, been out most of the day and unable to get the forums

Tschjaka and Kononov doing well, but looks like Bulankin and Ivan Ivanov are going to struggle this year. Danil Ivanov starting slowly too. iris123
Thought it was alittle hard to tell about Daniil. There were a few races resterted because of falls or riders took a bale with them round the track. So a lot of the placings would have been different had the heat been run through. From the first day at least.Tschajka looked good. But i thought Korchemakha looked very impressive in the heat he came through into second place and then fell.Apparently he knackered his bike, went out on someone elses in the next heat, then packed up for the day.Obviously today the promise he showed yesterday was turned into points.Definitely one to watch this season. But Ivan looks to be on the way down as shown last season as well.Dimon can only have one or two good races in a weekend now, sadly We have to hope Franky can give Nikolai a scare or two as it doesn't look like anyone else will Todays meeting video Great race between Vitali.K,Tschajka and Kononov Edited December 6, 2009 by iris123

iris123
The German nominations for the World Championship.Plus the problem with qualification spots due to Poland(and of course Netherlands i guess)having a reserved place in the GPs...... Conkers
The German nominations for the World Championship.Plus the problem with qualification spots due to Poland(and of course Netherlands i guess)having a reserved place in the GPs...... World Championship nominations I think we discussed this at length last season, but now, organising federations get a slot in the Finals if their top man doesn't qualify. Last year Johnny Tuinstra made it through under his own steam and as he told me he would rather have got there on merit that having a slot. Knapp was injured in practice at Sanok and the Poles relinquished their slot, but I do think Knapp will be more of a threat this season, as according to the Iceracing.pl site he has been training with the Russians. If Knapp goes through this year I do think it will be on merit. As for the finalists, I think you take the 7 Russian, Zorn, Aakko, Bauer, Posa, Svensson then four others - plus Tuinstra and Knapp (if they don't qualify on merit). It's the four others that you have to guess. How about Simon, Leihtinen, Holstein, plus another Austrian? (Mind you our success in this predictions lark has been somewhat laughable over the last few season )
