I thought the Russians had only 7 qualifying places - when did that go up to 8, as I appear to have missed it?
DutchGrasstrack
Well last year they had 7 places, but this year the MFR requested 8 places and also obtained 8 places from the FIM according to the rider allocations.

f-s-p
It's a real winter in Finland. At Tampere we've had -15 to -25 for weeks now and more to come, 30cm of snow! First rounds of both Allsvenskan and Elitserien have been postponed in Sweden because of winter (the other one was gonna be too cold and the other had something to do with snow). tomcat
Thoroughly enjoyed the racing clips provided. I lost touch/interest in the Ice Racing scene for a good few years, but having found this thread and having a good read through, I find my interest renewed again. Fantastic to watch the racing and see the new riders of today, plus the old names still doing the business. Thankyou. Conkers
Who is Anton Zmaga? And how could he have scored 13 from 5 rides with that lot! He rode around Western Europe last season under the watchful eye of former World Champion Sergei Kasakov. He made it as far as the Kamensk-Ural semi scoring 6. Rides for Kemerovo in the Russian Premier League.
iris123
Have read that Bauer has made a protest against all the riders in Steingaden who were using the old silencers. Not sure who they were though He is kicking himself that he lost out to Aakko after leading the whole heat, but apparently looked behind and forgot to use the throttle!!!!The extra point would have put him in the run-off with Zorn and Zmaga. But 4,000 people attending is a healthy crowd Bauer
