RumOldBird
Thanks for posting that Laurence. How did Tom Stokes and Adam Kirby do? Don't know about Tom Stokes but Adam is currently in the Isle of Man so couldn't compete today. His dad was praying for rain so that the meeting would be postponed. After another long delay Jones & Govier withdrew there and then, Archer completed a lap or so of his second ride then also withdrew. The parade incident involved Adam Portwood's mother and his 500cc machine leading to Adam competing in the 250 class only. All four injured parties suffered no major injuries. lucifer sam
Entertaining meeting - despite the slow start to proceedings. Real shame the three lads involved in the incident in Heat 1 were hurt - there were really going for it and ducking and diving past each other on each bend. Glad they are OK. Not quite sure why Adam Portwood's mum was sat upon a 500cc speedway bike without any protection. Glad to hear she was discharged from hospital later in the day. The most important thing is that you're all OK - they did announce on Saturday evening before the end of the NL meeting that all three riders plus Adam Portwood's mum were all going to be OK. p'boro lad
Caroline and myself would like to thank everyone for everything they did on Saturday for Adam whilst were away. We have no names as Adam was obviously not exactly with it but Andy Taylor,Dale and Scott Campos you were stars Juliette thanks for tearing to the track for Adam as well, kerry warvill for the offer of looking after Adams bikes and Dale allitt for saying he would look after Adam and make sure he was ok as well, also the unknown person for the burger stuffed into Adams hand, he has no idea who you were but thank you. To everyone else we haven't mentioned that did anything in the slightest for Adam we thank everyone of you, you are all great people. Best wishes Caroline and Mark (p.s. you all have just seen the shortest speedway career in history Lol.)
RumOldBird
Jolly Roger you are a real piece of work. This is the second time I've seen you having a go at kids on this forum. Wind your neck in and go pick on someone your own size.

Wind your neck in and go pick on someone your own size. Ignore him, he's not worth the effort the right people helped Adam when he needed it and we felt they should be thanked publicly to prove that not everyone are asses. The U15's this year are a great bunch. He's already had one posting removed so why worry about him. Edited August 24, 2009 by p'boro lad
Great Central
Here we see the good and the bad with forums. I don't know what happened on the day, and I am really not bothered as long as lessons are learned from it, but here we have Adam's Mum trying her best for her son, involved in an incident and trying to publically thank all of the people who helped Adam in this important meeting when she and Mark were not there. And then we have the other objectionable side with people who seem to think it is good to poke fun at a young lad and his mother. Please believe me, whatever is written on here is read by a lot of people, and can be very upsetting to those on whom these jibes are targetted. This is the time for moderators to step in when it gets so personal. Hope that all those who were involved in incidents are ok, and ready for the next round. Keep up the good work. RumOldBird
Hi P'boro Lad I just get annoyed with people like him even though I know they're not worth the bother. Hope you wife is feeling better now
p'boro lad
Hi RumOldBird, sorry We've took so long to reply, we've only just got back from Germany where Adam was racing his 250 in an FIM 250cc Test meeting with Ashley Morris and Steven Archer. She's fine brusing gone down just need for her shoulder to now mend properly. Thanks for asking
RumOldBird
That's OK. I saw that Adam and Ashley were in Germany. I hope it went well, saw Ashley came 3rd but no word on Adam. Glad the wife is getting better, I met you both at Weymouth and she didn't seem like the type of lady to sit around and feel sorry for herself.
