Blimey, tempting fate for me to open up the thread on this subject, eh..?! Anyhow, am doing so in the hope that when I get back from my hols we may have details of the pairs being selected etc..!

I sincerely hope that twice Pairs winner (both times with Wimbledon) Buzz Burrows will be in the Weymouth pairing...: especially as I'm planning a rare excursion over onto the island for this one!! :approve:

I also expect that the mods will have moved this thread off to the 'Testimonials' (sic) section as has been their wont previously... Let's wait and see, eh!!

Looking forward to this :D Making my way to the Island for a few days to take in both this meeting and the Mildenhall meeting on the Thursday, travelling with a certain HalifaxTiger. Interesting to see how many pubs we can do in the now annual Island pub crawl !

Jeez Parsnips old fruit, you're a right grumpy old wotsit nowadays! Anyway all the good folk on the Isle of Wight are no doubt grateful for your early warning that you plan to invade it as they indeed are for similar early notice of SimonB's and Halifax Tiger's planned assault on the territory! The border guards have been duly placed on full alert!:P

We only managed 12 pubs and one curry house on our crawl last year so we hope (well to be fair its mostly me that hopes) to beat that this year. Anyone about on the Wednesday more than welcome to join us :D

Grr arg.

I love all these pairs/fours meetings etc, but no chance I'll be able to see this one.. shall just have to watch the updates.

Any likely line-ups?

I notice there isn't a thread about this yet, so I'd thought I'd start one up.

Really looking forward to this meeting - my first visit to the IOW for a few years. Any news on the line-ups?

All the best

Rob

Well Peasepud, I hope your sense of direction is better than your eyesight otherwise you might well end up on the Isle of Skye! There IS an existing thread and it's under the "shared events" section where it should be despite Parsnips whingeing!

So now we all know that you Peasepud will be joining Parsnips AND both SimonB and HalifaxTiger in invading the friendly Isle of Wight on that day, one can only wonder how our border guard Fred is going to be able to cope with the increased threat to security!

NOTE TO MODS: Please help poor old Peasepud out by moving his posting and this reply to the proper section please!

Would it not be easier to move the other thread to this NL section, since that's where people look for it first. Well I did anyway.

And also it will prevent Parsloes from "having a period".:P

Peasepud matey, you simply cannot assume that normal "people" would look for a thread appertaining to this subject under this section because even you would surely agree no other human being can be remotely like either yourself or Parsnips!

Only you could say 'only' 12 pubs :D

I might add that I was out on my feet at the end, while you were ready for a night in the disco (and that would have cleared the Island - your dancing is second in its awfulness only to your singing).

There is actually a fair contingent coming from the Fens (at least a dozen, by my last count).

PS One of those dozen is Norwichkev. He's definitely an undesirable, so alert all border guards.

As you say Malc, a brilliant line-up..!! :approve:

Two strong groups with all three of 'my' teams for this year in the second one which makes it awkward but on the other hand a kinda no-lose situation!!!!!

And interesting that riders from all but one of the winning previous CL Pairs are represented: Buzz and Barrie from '04; Buzz again from '05; and Simon Lambert from the last two years!!

I'm deffo island hopping for this one..! What time's the last ferry (or as I'm sure some wag will point out, the first one in the morning, if it lasts as long as the '05 meeting!!! )??

Come on...: four days to this event and hardly any posts.

I don't give a fig wot the Mods and their habitual defenders (step forward Mr. W.) say, there is no question that IF this thread was where any sane person knows it should be - the NL section - there would be more interest...!!

Is the purpose of the BSF to encourage and promote interest, debate and discussion or suppress it!!!
