mickthemuppet
Speedway £25 - 23 races 23 mins entertainment if at all there is a pass on a slick FIM prepared track I agree football is expensive but at least you get a full 90 mins... If this had been properly priced you would have got a massive crowd now i believe it will be lucky to get as many as a normal coventry race night... £25 is far to expensive [/qu On your basis that Speedway only lasts 23 minutes per meeting perhaps you should put Football in the same context. There never has been a football league match that has lasted with 90 minutes of play. Taking out the various stoppages a football match lasts 60 minutes on average. Tennis is even worse with only 12 minutes per hour of actual play. I won't ever bother with Cricket. If you think a Speedway meeting is just 23 minutes why do you bother going then. Surely the atmosphere, introducing the riders, then coming up to the start. Then reruns for various reasons. Riders doing a lap of honour after winnig a race. This all goes towards the ambiance of a meeting.

Pollyanna
We need new blood in the gp's not another pensioner Well, Holder is "new blood" in the Gps for next year, is he not? Pleased that Hampel has got back in, too. As for Zorro, he won this meeting, so he has earned the right to be there, rather than just being given a seeded place. T.N.T.
1. Chris Holder 3, 3, 3, 3, 2 = 14 2. Jarek Hampel 2, 3, 3, 2, 3 = 13 3. Kauko Nieminen 1, 1, 0, X, 1 = 3 4. Chris Harris 0, 2, 2, 3, 3 = 10 5. Lukas Dryml 2, 0, 0, X, 2 = 4 6. Jonas Davidsson 1, 0, 2, 0, 0 = 3 7. Piotr Protasiewicz 3, 3, X, 2, 2 = 10 8. Grzegorz Walasek 0, 3, 1 = 4 9. Kenneth Bjerre R, 1, 2, 2, 1 = 6 10. Magnus Zetterstrom 3, 2, 3, 3, 3 = 14 11. Jurica Pavlic 2, 0, 0, 0, 1 = 3 12. Martin Smolinski 1, 1, 2, 0, 2 = 6 13. Fredrik Lindgren 3, 2, 1, 3, 3 = 12 14. Davey Watt 1, 1, 3, 1, 0 = 6 15. Adrian Miedzinski 2, 2, 1, 1, 0 = 6 16. Maksims Bogdanovs 0, Fx, 1, 2, 0 = 3 Track Reserves 17. Ales Dryml 1 18. Morten Risager 1 darcy ward in the gps? do me a favour yet again tnt showing his complete lack of knowledge and proving to be a twit. How many next season will wish that Darcy was in the Series instead of Zorro. Wouldn't it be fantastic if Zorro got into the GP at his ripe old age. Fair play to the guy, last year he won the Swedish title and now wins a meeting including some top riders. Lindgren may have missed out tonight, but he is at present in the top 8 and even if he was to drop to 9th, he should be noiminated next season. 2010 = Crump, Sayfutdinov, Gollob, Hancock, Jonsson, Holta, Pedersen, Andersen, Lindgren, Zetterstrom, Holder, Hampel ..... 3 places left Adams ~ Think he will bow out after this year Zagar ~ Has to be one of the favourites to be nominated Harris ~ Think the GPC was his last chance Woffinden ~ The in form Brit and better than the rest in conjtention. Richardson ~ Has always failed to qualify and backed out of the Challenge this year .... Unless there has to be 2 Brits ..... No Ward ~ Yes he is young, but it would be a great talking point and he would not finish last !
Grachan
Oh stop it. Ward is nowhere near ready yet for the GP. Why wish Ward was there instead of Zetterstrom anyway? Zetterstrom qualified by right even if it was a bit of a shocker. Last year Holder was way ahead of where Ward is now, and acknowledged that he wasn't ready for this year's GP. Ward's not even top of the PL averages any more. He needs at least a couple more years. Woffinden is probably the in-form Brit in the EL, but I'd give him another year too before chucking him into it. These guys are not ready. I know Emil S has been a revelation this year, but he's one hell of an exception to the norm. Best youngster since Michael Lee - if not even better. Adams has actually said in the local paper that he intends to bow out this year. To be honest, I suspect he knew that at the start and it one of the resons he lost his GP edge. Zagar - doesn't really deserve to be in after not qualifying for the Challenge. May get in due to league form and nationality though. Would add excitement if he did. Richardson is probably the most suitable British rider, but I don't think he'll get a nomination due to Harris scoring 10 at Coventry. They want British riders in there though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they both got in.
seanisnumber1
Well done to Holder, Zorro and Hampel on qualifying for next year through the challenge and Bjerre and Lindgren are sure to be in there anyway!! Not sure how Zorro will fare next year and with Harris not qualifying last night I think its time for Tai in the GPs!!
zonkers
I loved watching Zorro ride last night. He throughly deserved his place after the way he rode, especially after 2 nasty crashes. I think it's great that riders like him are given the opportunity to ride in the Gp's, and i'd rather watch him ride any day than Snotty..or even, dare I say it...Bomber ! I agree about Tai.....definitely need him in the GP's !
zonkers
If it was £15 the place would be packed. Well it wasn't !! And it WAS packed !!
zonkers
Got a feeling that Pavlic will have a really good meeting and could well qualify . Was he riding last night.....? Can't say I noticed.... !

WimbledonDon
Woffinden ~ The in form Brit and better than the rest in conjtention. Richardson ~ Has always failed to qualify and backed out of the Challenge this year .... Unless there has to be 2 Brits ..... No You're talking utter bull mate.... Richardson should be the first choice! Woffy is too young and would ruin him and if he had any sense he'd turn down the WC if offered to him. Rico is the top brit, in every league - cold hard facts... 8 + average in every league and he rides in the top leagues in poland, sweden and england. Richardson also lost the British Title this year, purely because his length of time between his 5th ride and the final, which the track had changed so much - missed the gate, went for the line he was taking in his rides before hand and there wasn't the dirt there like there was earlier. He also withdrew from the GP challenge due to illness - and who replaced him... "The in form Brit" you think should get the nomination... who only scored 5 points... gotta agree with you TNT.... i think if it were up to you we'd be having two Under 21 GP series next season Darcy Ward, Tai Woffinden who are we putting in next Lewis Bridger? double_O
Current standings... Crump.......146 Emil...........120 Gollob........110 Hancock.....106 Jonsson......92 Bjerre.........85 Lindgren......82 Pedersen.....80 ................................ Holta...........77 Andersen.....70 Adams.........63 Ulamek........56 Walasek.......50 Harris..........48 GP Challenge 1. Zetterstrom 2.Holder 3.Hampel 4.Lindgren 5.Harris I can see current top 10 being retained with Holta and Andersen (currently) being given 2 of the wild cards. Also reckon Zetterstrom will possibly not take his place in the GP and with Lindgren almost there, BSI may call it as Holder, Hampel and Harris as qualified from the Challenge, therefore having to avoid giving 2 Brits a wild card. The last 2 wild cards will IMO be Woffinden...to ensure 2 Brits in the series and a toss up between Zagar and Lindback. AS we have seen over the years, a lot of who gets in is purely political and financial, otherwise they would not have 4 places available to whoever BSI want in the GPs. Beeone
How many next season will wish that Darcy was in the Series instead of Zorro. Absolutely not, the kid has had one decent season in th PL for Gods sake. He is nowhere near ready for the GPs, look at Holder as a case in point, he repeatedly said that he would not be ready himself until he had more experience of the top league, which he now has. As for British involvement, I reckon with the way things have worked out with Harris finishing fifth in the Challenge and the likely finishing order in this years GP, he may just sneak back in. Though I don't neccessarily think that would be a good thing, he is the British champion, so who can they legitimately promote above him, it's alright saying Rchardson this and Woffinden that, but neither made the Challenge final, and neither is British Champion.
