ILoveAJ
Beeone- I put the good prices down to the person stood on the chair promoting them!!!! Seriously - a good afternoon all around, some super racing on a sunny afternoon. Sad news about Tai, you never want that to happen at any time, but especially a testimonial when its all about having fun. I have a photo of Tai sat in back of the ambulance (van) and he looked really sad. I said I would only add it to my facebook piccies if he was okay. I guess I should delete it now!! Pleased for Crumpie - the Aussies needed to win something today, didnt they!!! And the Auction - silly money was spent today and that was superb for Olly. Crumpies jacket for £300+ . Im sure someone else can add to this with other amounts. Overall, a good afternoon for us fans in the sunshine and hopefully a very successful and fun day for Olly. Thanks mate for a brilliant day. Tai is fine, dont worry x

Ricky Wells 2, 0, 0, 0 = 2 Heat Results Heat 01: Holder, Johnston, Bergqvist Comments: Big crash for Woffinden. Went into bend 3 and flew straight over the highside! Re-run: Bergvist was clear second when his bike started stopping and Johno through. Zzzz!! At least there's no dust! Sponsored by Clean Cut Sports @ www.cleancutsports.com Heat 02: Crump, Nicholls, Stead, Neath Comments: And they say speedway is unpredictable... Sponsored by Steve Dixon www.stevedixonphotography.co.uk Heat 03: Lindgren, Kennett, Batchelor, T.Allen Comments: Kennett nearly made the 1st pass of the afternoon on lap 1. But failed! Sponsored by Heat 04: Harris, Screen, Barker, O.Allen Comments:Screen came out of bend 2 and turned left into Allen, and nearly caused a pile up which left Olly well at the back. Barker much quicker than Screen but lost ground every time he tried to go remotely wide to pass. Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway http://www.foes.info/ Heat 05: Crump, Screen, Batchelor, Bergqvist Comments: Troy gated but Crump easily shoved him out the way on bend 2. Troy then went after Screen, failed, then had a massive paddy on the way back into the pits. Boo Hoo! Sponsored by Splod Heat 06: Kennett, Harris, Nicholls, Johnston Comments: Kennett flew from the start and cleared off. Harris had a go but didnt have the pace on a track that Silver Bee thinks is more suited to Nascar than Speedway! Sponsored by http://www.SpeedwayInfo.co.uk - speedway information for all UK leagues plus Grand Prix & World Cup stats Heat 07: Holder, Lindgren, Barker, Stead Comments: Holder flew from gate 4 and cleared off as barker and Stead muscled Lindgren out the way on bend 2. Lindgren then produced a sublime ride going under Stead and around Barker in one move. Sponsored by Merlin Heat 08: O.Allen, Wells, Neath, T.Allen Comments: Wells gated last, was second off bend 2 and then really made Olly work hard by trying different lines and looking like a speedway rider again. Sponsored by The Media Gecko @ www.themediagecko.co.uk Heat 09: Nicholls, Lindgren, O.Allen, Bergqvist Comments: Silver Bee says don't be shocked, Lindgren ran out of fuel on the last bend and Nicholls just got the win. Sponsored by inthedirt clothing - inthedirt.co.uk - facebook.com/inthedirt Heat 10: Crump, Barker, Johnston, T.Allen Comments: Crump gated and Barker nearly passed him on the back straight. Barker then had another couple of attempts to pass before Crump realised he'd better turn the throttle on and pulled away on the last lap. Sponsored by The Media Gecko @ www.themediagecko.co.uk Heat 11: Holder, Harris, Batchelor, Neath Comments: Harris gated last but got into second on bend 2. Harris then went after Holder and came from nowhere on the last lap to dive round the smallest gap on the last bend. Holder just got the decision on the line. Sponsored by 09/10 Fantasy Football Leagues now available at www.fantasysportsfactory.co.uk! Heat 12: Stead, Kennett, Screen, Wells Comments: Stead with a stunning last to first using every part of the track to cut through inside and out. Kennett, Screen and Wells swapped places all race before Screen shut off before the line to gift Kennett second. Sponsored by http://www.cablestar.co.uk - computer cables & accessories. Save 10% using promo code SPEEDWAY *****INTERVAL NOW***** Heat 13: Harris, Stead, T.Allen, Bergqvist Comments: Bergqvist moved off the white line leading to an inevitable Tommy Allen pass. Sponsored by Art and Stitch for all your sewing and art supplies – www.artandstitch.co.uk Heat 14: Lindgren, Screen, Neath, Johnston Comments: Lindgren squeezed between Screen, who was on the white line, and the fence on the back straight of lap 1and cleared off. Johno, clearly on his legendary flymo, was picked off by Neath on lap 3. Sponsored by www.enjaydesigns.co.uk Heat 15: Crump, Holder, Kennett, O.Allen Comments: Holder gated but moved out the way and gave Crump a free run straight inside him off bend 2. Kennett passed Allen on lap 2. Sponsored by www.msj.edu.pl www.msjspeedway.com Heat 16: Nicholls, Barker, Batchelor, Wells Comments: Troy gated but Nicholls and Barker went either side of him down the back straight. Barker had many opportunities to shut the door on the global superstar (texters words) and take the win but didn't have the bottle according to Silver Bee. Heat 17: Kennett, Barker, Neath, Bergqvist Comments: Barker passed Kennett on the white line before refusing to shut the door and gave Kennett the win. Beautiful team riding... Heat 18: Batchelor, O.Allen, Johnston Comments: Stead had bike problems which everyone seemed to ignore and is excluded on 2 minutes! Batchelor shut the door on Olly down the back straight to take the win yet still has a very miserable face on the way back in. (I cant actually put Silver Bees exact words as they may offend some people, but thats the polite version). Johno had to virtually stop to stop himself passing Allen. Heat 19: Holder, Nicholls, T.Allen, Screen ret Comments: Nicholls blasted round the field on lap 1 to take the lead. Holder then got his head down to pull a stunning move back round the fence on lap 2. Screen had engine failure on lap 1. Heat 20: Lindgren, Crump, Harris, Wells Comments: Crump gated but Lindgren flew round him on bend 4 of the first lap and wasn't troubled. Harris rode a shocking 1st bend to let Crump and Lindgren either side. Everyone is amazed that the favourite for that race Wells, was last! Final: Crump, Lindgren, Holder, Kennett Line up: Crump, Holder, Lindgren, Kennett Comments: Kennett led out of bend 2 but Crump and Lindgren went round him on bends 3 and 4. Lindgren then went after Crump but needed a couple more horsepower to pull off the move. Holder blasted around Kennett on the final lap to take the final podium place. ************************* Comments: Line up order confirmed. Tai has withdrawn from the meeting after his nasty looking fall in heat 1. Ricky Wells will take Tai's remaining 4 rides. Thanks to Silver Bee for the texts and to you for watching! SCB
£390 for Crumpys race jacket, £320 for Bomber Couldn't believe it! I still think they'd have gone for more if the auctioneers assistant had been modelling the jackets rather than just waving them about Typical testimonial affair really with a few top class races thrown in, Simon Steads 4th to 1st was bloody good and the kind of ride I used to love seeing from, lets hope this guy is back more often and not that guy that keeps locking up! Did have to chuckle when he missed the 2 minutes, there was no rush to help him out and about 30 seconds after he was excluded someone strolled out with some bike part, too late mate Crumpy and Freddie were a class apart, I know Holder rode well but I think he was a little behind either, that said, had he gated in the final I'm sure he'd have been difficult if not impossible to pass. Ignoring your first paragraph I will move on to Simons EF - That someone was his dad and he had actually run off quite a while before (I watched) but obviously struggled to find what he needed. What got me was no one else went out with a bike - it is a testimonial after all or, no discrection was used and that he wasnt given more time. I reckon thats what Trevor was hoping for but he must have know the 2 minutes was well over, hence the 'stroll' back.

21st century heathen
There were some good races in the end, the pick probably being Stead going from last to first. But the most significant thing to come out of the racing was further evidence that for some unknown reason Olly is a magnet for other riders' mistakes. Screen and Batchelor came within a fraction of wiping him out of his big day. How can one rider be in the wrong place at the wrong time so often?! Crump, Lindgren and Holder were the pick of the bunch in terms of points and speed but I'll give MOTM to Barker for being the most entertaining rider on the day. Great to see so much money raised for Olly. Top marks to everyone that had that much money in their pockets and were prepared to part company with it.
