johnc
thats dissapointing............ apparently there was "real" dissapointment at the back tonight for Hans Andersen, is Millard suggesting that the other riders to finish last only felt "slight" dissapointment and weren't actually bothered about coming last  On a serious note...........yet another average GP............how many times are we going to hear riders saying "the track was completely different from practice on Friday" - "it's a lot slicker".
Jacques
God that was a borefest... again.   Well done Greg though.. Now in 2nd spot - It seemed he'd sneaked up there for some reason..I'd been focusing on NP, Crumpy and the dirty Russian   Anyway to relieve the boredom we had a quiz...  Who is worse, Millard or Nicholls, Millard won it hands down

Don't they expect the race day track to be slicker, I sure do, that's the norm!

Jim Blanchard
Another awful GP. How sad that the pinnacle of our sport has come to this. Â Well, seeing that no one (as yet) has blamed the (well what can we blame in lieu) track or Ole Olsen yet- lets blame the riders for not trying hard enough to make a race of it for us. Â Life is hard being a speedway fan for christs sake. What has the world come to? Who can we blame? T.N.T.
The track was good, level, no real ruts, good shape and length ..... but totally the wrong surface.   What was that stuff as it was mainly grey in colour (like the old ash tracks) and had no real consistancy to it. Even after watering, you could see a fine spray of dust being pushed back. If that track had more of a clay style base like Wolverhampton, I firmly believe we could have witnessed a great GP   However, what we saw was Gate 4 and Gate 1 working well and the only success from the middle was Kenneth "Rolling Start" Bjerre and Emil Sayfutdinov in his easiest race of the night possibly.   Gate 4 only had one rider fail to score .... Laguta being excluded  Gate 4 only had two third places .... Emil (Bjerre rolling on gate 2) and Nicholls  Gate 4 was where Walasek gained 2 wins .... and never scored in other three races  Crump's only 2 wins were from Gate 1 and Gate 4  Leigh Adams only had 2 wins all night ... both Gate 4  Ulamek gained a win from Gate 4, a second from Gate 1 and his only other win was when Laguta was excluded  Iversen won off Gate 4 and Gate 1  Rune Holta 2 1 2 1 1 .... Guess which two races he had the Red and Yellow helmet colours in ?  Greg Hancock wins the GP winning 4 races during the night .... All from Gate 4 and Gate 1  Fredrik Lindgren had a poor night .... 2 1 0 2 1 .... Guess where he had Gate 1 and Gate 4 ?  Tomasz Gollob looked better tonight with two good wins .... Gate 1 and Gate errrr ?     Must admit .... I prefered watching Gate 4 during the night the most as well (very nice )

Sir Jasper
The difference between this meeting and the SWC is immeasurable, in the SWC each race means something where as the gp riders are happy to settle for a second place and are always thinking of the next race or meeting, A change in structure is needed or the amount of gp's need to be cut down to 6 or something. norbold
Tony Millard might not have known how many points each rider had or their position in the meeting or Grand Prix overall, but he does know the ages of all the riders. Now, I ask you which is more important? Â Riders' ages obviously.

Now, I ask you which is more important? Riders' ages obviously.  Yawn. Pearson has a day off, and you find petty faults with his replacement. How sad you are. A true reflection on the forum, when the senior members stoop to this level. You should be focusing on why, time after time, we get these meetings with poorly prepared tracks, riders who really have no right being there in the first place, and a format that is desperately in need of a change, so we don't suffer riders " going through the motions", instead of racing hard.
Shadders
B4e was positively ecstatic when the Rye House meeting was called off early, so we could sit in with our Chinese take away to watch the GP ..... I lost interest half way through (the GP, NOT the Chinese) Edited August 2, 2009 by Shadders
