Anders
I'm not sure how many that's interested, but tonight, the Czech Republic joined Poland, Sweden and hosts Denmark in the European U19 Team Championship Final by winning the Semifinal in Moorwinkelsdamm (Germany). Points, accoring to the live updates on www.speedway-forum.de, are: Czech Republic 43 1. Michael Hadek ( 3 2 3 2 2 ) = 12 (5) 2. Pavel Pucko ( 2 1 3 1 3 ) = 10 (5) 3. Michal Dudek ( 1 3 1 2 3 ) = 10 (5) 4. Jan Holub ( 2 2 2 2 3 ) = 11 (5) 17. Vaclav Milik ns Finland 36 9. Kalle Katajisto ( 3 3 2 1 1 ) = 10 (5) 10. Niko Siltaniemi ( 2 1 - 2 2 ) = 7 (4) 11. Jari Mäkinen ( 3 1 2 1 2 ) = 9 (5) 12. Timo Lahti ( 3 2 2 3 Fx ) = 10 (5) 19. Aki-Pekka Mustonen ( 0 ) = 0 (1) Germany 33 13. Erik Pudel ( 2 3 3 3 3 3 ) = 17 (6) 14. René Deddens ( 1 1 3 3 3 F ) = 11 (6) 15. Marcel Helfer ( 0 2 1 - 1 ) = 4 (4) 16. Sebastian Eckerle ( 1 - F - 0 ) = 1 (3) 20. Franz Winkelhofer ( 0 ) = 0 (1) Ukraine 7 5. Andrej Kobrin ( 0 0 1 0 2 ) = 3 (5) 6. Stanislav Ogorodnik ( 0 0 0 0 0 ) = 0 (5) 7. Sergei Borisenko ( F 0 0 0 - ) = 0 (4) 8. Voldomyr Teigel ( 1 0 1 1 1 Fx ) = 4 (6) 18. - Thanks to the speedway-forum.de, I've been able to put together a scoresheet, based to those updates. So the final in Holsted (Denmark) on August 23rd will be contested by Poland, Sweden, hosts Denmark and Czech Republic. BTW, what kind of team would Great Britain had been able to send to this competition had they been willing to enter?
SCOTLAND1314
Good to see Katajisto get a rather good points return. Excellent return from Erik Pudel, which clubs does he ride for?
Anders
Excellent return from Erik Pudel, which clubs does he ride for? From what I've been able to find, it's Wolfslake (German Bundesliga), Outrup (Danish Division 1) and Rawicz (Polish Liga II).

Anders, cheers. I had a little look myself and his website indicated Gorzow as well, but I don't recall him riding for them this year. That said I haven't monitored all their scores. Checked Gorzow's site and, after a quick check, I don't see him featured in this year's team.

iris123
Ah ha I see. Iris have you seen the chap ride? Quite a few times from before he was on 500cc.He was the new "wonder kid" a few years back.Coming from Berlin he learnt his trade in Poland to a large extent i think rather than Germany.A bit like Stephan Katt living near Denmark rode a lot up there. But Erik has also rode a fair bit in the Danish 1 Division. He is,i would say ok to good.I wouldn't say he has progressed that much in the past 2 years. But in the Bundesliga he is normally in the junior races and he doesn't get much competition there. Was a good result for him and a bit surprised to be honest.I think Deddens is the better prospect and of course the injured Kai Huckenbeck was very impressive earlier this season.I think if Huckenbeck had of been fit and in the team Germany could have put on a serious challenge. Interesting, sounds like he needs a new challenge. What assessed average would he have if he joined UK speedway?
iris123
Interesting, sounds like he needs a new challenge. What assessed average would he have if he joined UK speedway? That is the problem with German youngsters.Particularly at the moment.A few years back when Hefenbrock and Smolinski were coming through there were at least in the northern section maybe 4 or 5 quali rounds for the German junior championship, the Bundesliga and the 2.Bundesliga.Which gave the juniors a good few meetings before any other open or foreign meetings. Now the 2.Bundesliga has gone and the junior championship.......well they can barely get 16 riders together for one meeting now.So like i say Erik at least was all over the place trying to get meetings(the first year he was on a 500cc he was at almost every meeting i went to for the first 3 or 4 months!!!).I saw him in Denmark at the lower level and i know at the same time Kevin Wölbert was in the Zielona Gora junior side,Erik was riding for Gorzow.I think it is hard for the German lads if you are continuelly riding against the same riders all the time. I guess he would come in on a 7.But i am no great shakes with the ins and outs of British speedway rules

A wee bit painful to begin with i.e. the 7 point average, but could perhaps be an alternative source of rider.
