spook
This is a joke 10 am surley the world cup final takes priority over polish league matches. yeah completely agree ....... and Poland knew the risks when they chose Sunday as their league day only in speedway
Gambo
Does seem to smack of pacifying the Polish clubs so their meetings can go ahead in the afternoon. I mean, God forbid the Polish league should have to take a back seat. But maybe it will be of benefit to the travelling fans and enable them to see the meeting and still make their pre-booked flights home? I mean, God forbid the Polish league should have to take a back seat. Fair point, but does it not make sense to ensure that the Polish league can run tomorrow as well. Why do i say that? Because if the Polish league DOESN'T run tomorrow then they'll have to re-arrange these fixtures which will probably affect Elite League clubs with Polish riders. i.e. most of them. I'm not saying the morning start is a good idea, BUT given the weather, and all other scenarios, there does seem to be some logic to it. I feel sorry for the bloody track staff, wonder what time some of those have to get up, if they go to bed Just hope they have plenty who are prepared to go in at daft o, clock Must admit, it was the right decision tonight, even if the rain stopped i wouldn't have fancied watching our Chris ride in that slime!! austrian hammer
They said on Sky, due to clear up @ 2.00am (must have a info from the met-the polish met?-?) So, in which case they do know how to prepare a track, pretty sharpish; i.e. World Final 1992. Given that there's no more rain by the time lightness ascends, should be fine, and probably a damn good racing surface too.
manchesterpaul
This is a joke 10 am surley the world cup final takes priority over polish league matches. I printed the regulations on just the previous page, included in which was, The SWC Final Tournament has precedence over any other Track Racing meeting, with the exception of the Speedway Grand Prix meetings. Midnight_Lady
I can't believe all the moaning on here about the reaarangement being 10am Probably most people who have travelled there will still be able to see the final and make it home at a reasonable time tomorrow night. If people don't want to get up early to watch it then tape it. Lazy beggars.

I assume you have nothing else planned for the morning then and for those who have made other arrangements for the morning/are working/go to church . Jacques
I assume you have nothing else planned for the morning then and for those who have made other arrangements for the morning/are working/go to church . I agree with ML The people that have paid to watch it over there and have spent their money to get there deserve to see the meeting. It's not ideal, but you can't accomodate everyone..it'll be reapeated later anyway.
frigbo
Absolutely shocking of Ole Olsen not to ring everyone personally to see what time they could watch the re-staging. Is there no end to this man's evil?. Edited July 18, 2009 by frigbo
lastword
and for those who have made other arrangements for the morning/are working/go to church. Oh dear, so the weather in Poland has inconvenienced some person in East Anglia who has to work/go to church? Boo hoo. For God's sake (in your case) the media and speedway world does not revolve around your needs! The meeting was RAINED OFF.........live with it, and if your personal life doesn't fit in with that then make your own choice..................watch the re-run or go to church,it's your choice, after all.............some of us are just grateful to be able to watch it at all. Yes I do have something planned for tomorrow morning but that's life! However I think the people already in Poland are more important considering they have paid their travel, accomodation and tickets. BongoBrian
There is no way this is going ahead at 11:00am (local time) tomorrow... the forecast is for heavy rain all night, dying down to light rain through tomorrow. How is that track supposed to dry out by mid morning? I agree, the Poles should have re-scheduled their League if they are holding the SWC... next year Cardiff has been moved to later so that it doesn't collide with the Football World Cup. How can the International Speedway Authorities organise the SGP to suit other events, but the Polish Speedway Association not demonstrate any flexibility? Are they more important? Dinnae think so! But saying that, if it does go ahead, I'm diving down to the greasy spoon to get a big fry up Scottish breakfast and plonk myself on the couch in front of the meeting

Are they more important? Dinnae think so! Of course they are more important than BSI, they provide a living for all Polish riders and many others besides! BSI are incomers, they'll have to work around the leagues next year Cardiff has been moved to later so that it doesn't collide with the Football World Cup. Of course, it would lower the crowd if it clashed! Edited July 18, 2009 by Trees
