Well I'll eat my hat, didn't think we had even a glimmer of a chance of even third place. Hats off to the lads, so near yet so far away in the end. Some great racing and entertainment. Best wishes to Adam Shields and just hope it is not a collar bone gone.

How come the Aussies were outstanding until they qualifed and then all of a sudden they followed behind the swedes

Because they didn't want us to get through to the final!

Crump even lent his bike to Shields in the last race!

Rob Lyon.............what a complete d***, dropping Nicholls and picking Bridger and King has cost us a world cup final place.

Oh dear, really no need for name calling, that should be left in the playground.

He's got the GB team acting as a team and not as individual riders. Win as a team, lose as a team.

If you thought we would have gone further than we did tonight with the riders Rob has at hand then I pity you

Well done team GB, very proud of you all.

So Rob Lyon's dumb assed idea of picking the team based on age rather than ability backfires, alarm and surprise.

For a 3 man team it was a decent effort, what a difference a world class rider in the team makes. Even a great like Rico couldn't raise riders who are barely above PL level to a Final place.

Bridger and King were as abject as expected and Lyon's ridiculous policy cost us a final place.

Only one problem with your rant, the young ones are our future and have to be blooded, along side some experienced riders in the team, how else are they to gain that experience without riding?

Give the youngsters a chance eh before hang, drawing and quatering them

Well done to the lads, absolutely brilliant effort guy's.

The only criticism I have is of Rob Lyons. In my opinion, he is short sighted and not a particularly good manager not to have recognised that an away meeting in Lesno requires some balance of experience with youth. I absolutely agree with Lyons that to input some youth to the mix is good and indeed, it payed off at Peterborough on Monday night, but to ask so much of both Woofy and King was simply a lack of understanding of how to motivate young up and coming stars so that you don't end up burning them out. This is the same in any sport, football, tennis, rugby etc.

I said before that if Scotty Nicholls or Edward Kennett had been brought in for their experience, then this was the way forward... I think the decision that Lyons should have made was either Scott or Eddie in for Either Woofy or Danny...

...End of!
