iris123
Mind you this "great effort" by GB was that they only beat an injury ravaged DK team...a country with the population of Scotland...... But a country that probably has more riders doing junior league speedway at this moment in time than Scotland have had in their entire history.........to put things into perspective here.GB have some positives to take from this tourny as do Denmark.it might not seem like that to some though
Jacques
Magnificent effort by Great Britain tonight. Great to see team spirit firmly back in the camp. Rob Lyon has already made such a difference. Well done lads - you made us proud tonight. All the best Rob I wouldn't change a thing, keep it as it is... I know I've shocked meself
Ghostwalker
frigbo why should Rob Lyon take away the best scorer from the semi to the race off?
hatcham
An in form Nicholls was crap last year! Just get over it. Scott Nicholls just ain't interested!!!! Was he ? would you like to remind yourself what he scored in the race off in Vojens ?
Trees
I'd say,the only criticism and it is small....is that Rob seemed to be unsure about the start gate positions and Stekkers was the one leading the protest. But i am sure he will learn from that and has to be a bit more forcefull..... As Bagpuss has posted, Rob was going by the OFFICIAL PROGRAMME not the spreadsheet that Stekkers was using, he admitted that perhaps he should have realised that the gate position was wrong, I would doubt he'll ever go by an official BSI programme again anyways! Well embarrasing for the promoters! For all those brits who are posting negative thoughts on here, it's the negativity of us brits and not believing in our rider's ability that brings us down, it's about time we all started being positive and perhaps it will help the cause. Our riders need all the help, guidance, opportunities and support they can get .................. let's go for it!!!! If we don't, nobody else will for christ's sake! crikeythatsfast
An out of form Nichoills is still better than a busting a gut King or Bridger at the moment. And to compare a precocious talent like Ward to the likes of King is frankly ridiculous! Not at all For what it's worth my team would have been: Rico Harris Nicholls Woffinden Bridger I never compared the two (Ward and King), but you just did I was actually just using an example about bringing youngsters through So that team you could have seen winning and getting through to the final? Do you not think that Danny King was one of the reasons why we got to the semi's? And he deserved his chance. And by the way, when would you decide to give these youngsters a chance, and I have to say IMHO Scotty does not warrant a place in the GB team this season on evidence of not only the GP's where he rides against the riders he would have been against tonight, and have you seen his form in Poland this year? I do believe he has been replaced, if not perm, but recently by Travis. No disrespect to Travis but nuff said.

But at least we were in this stage of the tournament, which is more of an achievement than the Americans these days...now how many multiples of Britain's population do they have? But, a World Cup is not the place to splosh riders in at the deep end. Test Matches and grass roots development are the places to nurture riders, not the biggest team event on the planet of Speedway. Best team at all times!
Sandie
An excellent performance from the team tonight (overall) and they certainly did better than I expected. But all this talk of building for the future is a little frustrating. Thats it till next year now. When was the last time we had a full test match? Unless Rob Lyon has been given the go-ahead to put some meetings in place this TEAM will now dispurse back into their individual clubs and only come together in 11 months time again!!! Sorry if that is negative but we now need to move on from this performance tonight and with all the press reports due out that will say –WE ARE BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE’ – please tell us how. Keep this momentum going.
hatcham
The whole idea that the team spirit is so wonderful is hilarious, when the adrenalin dies down the only thing on the minds of Richardson, Harris and Woffinden will be "if it wasn't for the TWO WASTERS, i'd be in the final on saturday. Team spirit only works when a degree of success is achieved.
Ghostwalker
He didn't that was Chris Harris. no King was the best scorer, Harris got 3 bonus point because of a silly joker rule without those 3 bonus pints Harris scored 1p less then King. scarletrider
How come the Aussies were outstanding until they qualifed and then all of a sudden they followed behind the swedes Yeh, we got mugged again, we get no favours from anyone, and we have no friends in speedway! bluebee
Neither am I in your opinion. Get over it And this means: you are not interested in my opinion or I am not interested in yours? You can defend Nicholls as much as you like but he has been one sad character this season. Add him to the mix and see Team spirit plummet to what it was like last year. There's one very pertinet point made earlier though. Tuners, set up, engineering nous, whatever you call it. Have we got the best? No good having good riders on mopeds

gypilgrim
Saying that you don't become a bad rider overnight and he was sure Scott will recover his form.....and return to the team.i thought that was very good from Lee to even mention Scott Lee Richardson has gone up in my estimations this week. I think he has been a breath of fresh air. He is spot on with Scott. Hopefully Scottie can come back next season rejuvenated and earn a place in the GB team, rather than thinking he has a place by right (which, reading between the lines, might be part of the reason for his non-selection this week). torpointfanatic22
A big well done to the lads, thought we were actually going to make the final for a minute, unlucky but we will be back! Oh and Rico was awesome tonight!

Trees
Test Matches and grass roots development are the places to nurture riders, not the biggest team event on the planet of Speedway. You can probably blame the GPs for the lack of test matches, when are the top riders EVER available? Also the BSPA have to be sure of attracting a good crowd cos no doubt the top boys come at a cost. I'd absolutely adore watching a test match at Lynn again, and I'm pretty sure every Lynn fan out there would lap it up
