Lucifer he has been in Scotland more than 5years so if a Scottish team was commisioned he could ride for them. Anyway aint one of his parents Scottish? Off topic a little good to see Stephanie Twell deciding to run for Scotland rather than England :) Guid Lass.

Mods answering a question about a riders nationality is NOT political.

Still no news on the GB line-up I take it?

Pretty poor show really.

Don't think they are announced until after the practice tomorrow, but could be wrong.

Post of the day! Reverting to the Scottish thing, didn't Scotland enter the WTC as a nation in days gone by, or am I just imagining that? The days of Harkins, etc?

Yes...i remember seeing Scotland take on England,Australia and New Zealand once or twice. Those days are sadly long gone when Scotland could put together a 4 or 5 man team like that.

And this foto might go some way to answering the question about Tully's nationality.I took it last year at the U21 quali in Güstrow. He didn't need to have this flag wrapped around his shoulders......it was his personal choice

I've not seen confirmed Aussie or Swedish line ups either. Can you send me a link

They are almost certainly going to track the same 5 riders as they did in the Semi's although it is also remiss that they too have not declared their confirmed line-ups.

Regards Team GB, if they had announced their team today they could have garnered some column inches in the press tomorrow if it was spun with a decent press release. As it is the daily papers will have gone to print before the team is announced so an opportunity for publicity is once again lost.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't read newspapers so how many column inches did actually reaching the race off get?

Realistically I can't see speedway getting many inches at all. The Ashes start tomorrow, some football team has spent a fortune and the golf Open starts this weekend. Where will they fit speedway in

Pretty no win situation trying to answer that one in a way that someone who doesn't read newspapers could understand.

Speedway did get quite a bit of coverage on Monday before Event 1 in the papers that I read although said event finished too late on Monday for them to get any news into Tuesday's morning press. A couple of the later editions I read did report that we had qualified for the Race Off as if it was some incredible achievement so I assume that particular press release was spun by someone from the Alastair Campbell school of media manipulation!

I understand perfectly well, I just choose to read newspapers online and doubt I'm alone.

I don't read sports pages quite simply because I'm not that interested in sport except speedway and the occasional cricket match. I can get any info I need about speedway from various sources on net.

Well done to whoever sent that particular press release out :approve: but I doubt an inch in a paper will persuade anyone to actually get off their butt and attend a meeting.....now if they were shown a video of Heat 20 that might

Fourentee, Scotland used to ride in the UK round of the World Team Cup against England, Australia and New Zealand. They were replaced after the emergence of the United States as a majot speedway nation.

Scotland also reached a couple of World Pairs Final during the 1970s.

Let them have a team and let them have a chance in the World Cup qualifiers. It would great to see them getting through and riding against England.

All the best

I don't think Ole has any say in track prep for the World Cup. Only G.P's, judging from what they were saying last night about him being sat in the stand in the afternoon at P'boro whilst the track prep was taking place.

Beautiful , perhaps we will get a glimpse of the true racing track that Lezno is seen in the Polish League. Noted the little dig by Sky sports team stating that no dirt on the track in SGP's is to keep the advertising boards clean.

Ok thats it i want answers on this.

Is it the FIM or the ACU i need to contact?

I would imagine you would start with the ACU and work upwards. A well-worded petition could help.

Snyper, I think you'll find most English fans would actually like to see a Scottish team. It's good healthy rivalry.

All the best

Rob
