Starman2006
Complete bonkers why Nicholls and Richardson aren't in this team. Hes on about using Scott and Lee in Poland? Why not tonight at Peterborough. Scott and Lee are both world class riders, despite Scotts poor year. I honestly think we could take 2nd at Peterborough with those two instead of Woffiden and King, but now? No chance. Be lucky to beat Slovenia. Is he, where's he said that?. If the kids all have a good meeting tonight, then Rob will find it very hard to drop them!!
pirateandi
Thats a good forecast! Yesterday the showers were coming through about 7pm. So if the wind stays strong this should push through nice and early. Must take blanket with the waterproof back though - dont want wet bums!!!! Not had wet bums since primary school lol
snapper-racing.co.uk
Is he, where's he said that?. If the kids all have a good meeting tonight, then Rob will find it very hard to drop them!! It says on british-speedway.co.uk He has already said he is likely to have Lee in the team IF they qualify for Poland (but its not definate) It makes sense as he has bikes there and experience. It also gives the guys the incentive to do well tonight. At least he hasnt said WHO would be replaced before this match unlike the previous manager Hardly inspires a good performance if a rider knows hes definitely going to be dropped. snapper-racing.co.uk
If you had ordered your tickets before 1/7/09 a grandstand seat was only £20, in fact for adults paying on the turnstiles tonight it is still only £20 to stand. I think for 25 heats of racing plus the attraction of some of the top riders not seen on these shores this year I think this is a good price. To put it into some perspective, an Elite league match at Peterborough is £16 for only 15 heats with less quality riders. Im sorry I have to disagree League racing is seen by many as not value for money anymore. Back in the day we had a lot more entertainment for our money, and it wasnt as expensive. Seems like speedway isnt helping in a recession and is no wonder a lot of people are walking away. Scunny ran an experiment with £5 entrance which was a success - why hasnt anyone else followed suit. If the Stadia were full then that price would be ok - but they are not and many arent willing to pay that, until that is accepted speedway will continue to struggle with low attendances. This event wouldve got a lot more people going if it was more affordable - and that is a fact. The whole talk of riders not seen here all the time annoys me - a bandwagon jumped on by too many to justify increased costs. I used to watch Division 2 racing back in the day and we never saw the "top boys" back then, and yet the racing was first class and I really had no interest in these so called better riders, as long as I got to see my heroes. Shalewhale
Anyway FOR ANY OF YOU COMING OVER FROM KINGS LYNN There has been a crash on the A47 and apparently there are still delays between Thorney and Eye, so allow more time or go via March and Whittlesey. flagrag
I am not sure what the weather is like in the Peterborough area but Charlie Webster from Sky has just posted on Twitter that the start time for tonights meeting has already been delayed which is a bit worrying as further rain is predicted this afternoon lets hope the meeting runs

Noodles
You beat me to it. Message sent to her asking why? Awaiting reply!!! I can't believe there would be any reason to delay the start as of 3pm, even if they had rained. I have never known such an early announcement. Did she give a reason why? Looking around the forums there does not seem to have been much rain at all so cannot understand why there would be a delayed start?

The track would have to be underwater for there to be a chance of a delay at this time something aint quite right if thats the case and i reckon it cant be a track problem! i was planning to leave soon but as i only live in Leicester i may wait a while yet! flagrag
I am wondering if there has been some airline delays and the Polish riders have been delayed or that due to the bad weather they have not been able to practice as planned so everything is moved back a bit

Northern Exile
http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/363?area=Peterborough Looks like it will clear up by 7pm. Perhaps somebody should have a work with Uncle Len, his weather infomation is, by all accounts, second to none. Come on GB!!!
Jacques
Whats the point in speculating? Exactly! She shouldn't be posting stuff like that anyway, is she the offical spokesperson? it' s a social networking site FFS! hardly official is it? She should stick do doing what she doesn't do very well. Give the poor girl a break!! She's only mentioned it in passing as she does most stuff about Speedway!! Plus she's a pretty reliable source..... Is it her fault that no-one has thought to make an official announcement!!

Orson Welles
I live in Orton Brimbles, about 1 mile away from the Showground. We've just had a really heavy shower, but the good news is that it passed over quickly. So long as we don't get any more heavy rain, I would have thought the meeting will go ahead.
